Ive always preferred playing battle royal games in solos i know there are a ton of people who are the same. Ive been looking around and cant seem to find if there will be an update where it is put in the game or if its not coming at all. Any help?
I'd bet they are waiting to see what the player base looks like. VR is already really hard on VR multiplayer games because of the cost of entry and other considerations. Steam is sitting at 338 players at the moment which isn't great but I'm sure it's much higher for Oculus who doesn't report player numbers.
Adding solo's risks splitting the player base and increasing queue times for everyone. I hear you though, I also would love a solo mode.
This does seem to be the major limiting factor to expanding to larger maps, more players in one fight, and solos duos squads. I do feel that this game will start to build in popularity immensely though, especially with the quest 2 now out at $300. Been really enjoying the game so far, so heres to hoping!
The thing that gets me is, it’s called population one, which implies having a solo mode as standard. If it’s only trio’s shouldn’t it be called Population Three?
I like the trio's, but at times solo's would be nice too
yea i kinda hate getting bad teammates when my usual mates arent on
Yeah I'm too much of a hermit for teams of three. Going to wait and hope there's more modes in the future.
Solo mode would get me from playing a round or two every now and then, as I reckon I will be for now, to playing all the damn time
I would love a solo mode. Squads is great but come on, population ONE... lets get it please
I love the 3 person teams we have right now, but I’d love a solo mode as well. I hope the population of players remains steady so an option like this is possible in the future.
Needs actual solo mode aka offline / single player or fill with bots. Bots with proper AI. If Hyperdash can do it well with zero budget, a game funded by Oculus can put AI in. Hell, HD's AI shakes your hand at the end of a match!
Oh they have AI bots alright.. and they have different levels of difficulty.. they just dont have them in this version of the game yet. I am sure they will add them later.
I need solos because everyone I’m paired with is either 7 or it’s their first game. It’s a rage worthy amount of frustration.
The lack of solo mode or private parties is a legitimate deterrent for me. I've not touched the game since my first time trying with my mate because we got annoyed at being paired with random kids with no option to keep the party private. We just wanted to be able to enjoy our casual conversation and enter the game as a duo, even if it put us at disadvantage. I will happily dive back in once they add a solo mode or the ability to disable team filling.
yeah i'm not buying it only for that .. also the reason why i stopped playing apex :p i don't have any friends who own vr soo
i would love a solo mode. right now, to win you need a good team, and if none of your friends have a vr headset then you have to random queue. i hate it. you either get a team of people who dont talk, a 7 year old squeaker, or a toxic tryhard who calls you trash when you die
