This speaker is a very good value for $50. Where it really shines is above 70% volume. It gets very loud and does not reduce bass like most others. This, along with the multi-directional design, makes it ideal for outdoor use as the name suggests. On the negative side, the treble can be a little harsh and bass response is in the upper range, making it a little boomy. Also, there is no loudness compensation for low level listening. These things would knock my rating down more for a more expensive speaker but there is only so much you can expect for $50. Most speakers in this price range have almost no bass and don't get very loud.

Great sound for such a small size. Setup was easy. The only Improvements I'd like to see is the raised lettering on the top control panel printed in a dark / contracting color. Mine is green and it is hard to see without looking closely. I can only imagine how difficult the black unit's button markings would be to see. Secondly, a carry handle would be a nice touch. The unit is solid and a bit heavy for it's size. That's a plus when sitting on a flat surface but picking it up with one hand can be risky. I have small to average size hands so this might not be an issue for larger hand sized folks.

This speaker is amazing. Durable, easy to use, excellent bass, almost too much. That's the only complaint. Wishing I could control treble and bass, but other than that for the price it is really great. Packaging was incredible coming in a hard plastic casing. The buttons could be easier too press but I'm sure the design is to help keep it weather resistance. I use it as my computer speaker often when I'm watching a movie or as a music speaker for when I am doing dishes or am on the front porch. Light weight and great for backpacking. Thinking of buying another!

DIVOOM - 4 Speakers with across the board QUALITY STEREO SOUND. 2 Highs / 2 Mids / Lows. I use mine on the golf cart, patio and in the house. Has plenty of sound. All the adjustments on top are simple simon. Noticeable promps. Has a silicon rubber rap that looks good and has some resistance from WEATHER. I Only have one charge as of yet, only took about 1hr. I recomend this DIVOOM Speaker to any body who don't want to spend a couple BENJIE'S on a speaker W/ as much QUALITY. Yes I'd buy it again.

This product is exactly as described and is very good. The sound is great. I would like it to be just a little louder but I am totally satisfied with the quality and price of this item. Extremely sturdy.

This is an awsome speaker. The sound is amazing with just enough bass. The unit itself is very durable and I was able to pair it with my iPhone with no problems. It is weather proof... meaning you don't want to drop it in the pool, but if it is left in the rain for a little it's fine. Truthfully... I can't see why you would need a full waterproof speaker at all! I would highly suggest this speaker for your outdoor use!

I was looking for a speaker I could use at the beach without worrying about sand, falls, water, etc. After reading several reviews, I ended up with the most affordable alternative. I am glad I did. It is loud enough for the outdoors, great bass, and you don't have to worry about it getting wet or dirty with sand. I may buy a backup!

Excellent, sturdy speaker for the beach

Awesome speaker! We have been playing it now fresh out of the box for 2.5 hours. The speakers coming from both sides of the box make it sound much better than MOST of the speakers we tried out at Best Buy. Very impressed! Thank you!

Nice little unit, great value for money and pretty decent sound.

Battery life lasts for hours, smart little unit and very loud for it's size and price. Would recommend to anyone and I use it all the time.

Bringing music to the hot tub wonderful - note your Bluetooth transmitter needs to operate 4.0 though

The Divoom Voombox Outdoor delivers solid audio at moderate volume levels and can also get quite loud for its size, but the power can bring distortion.
At $99.99, the Divoom Voombox Outdoor is a rugged Bluetooth speaker in a crowded field. Its splash-proof design and ability to get quite loud are certainly positives, but it suffers from a tendency to distort at top volumes on bass-heavy tracks is not ideal, and its lack of high frequency clarity is a bit disappointing. If your budget can extend a bit beyond the $100 barrier, there are much stronger options in the outdoor-friendly, portable Bluetooth speaker realm.
Design With a rugged, splash-proof IP44-rated design, the Voombox Outdoor is ideal for poolside music listening. The 3 by 7.2 by 2.3-inch, 1.5-pound rectangular speaker is available in red, black, green, or blue, and features six drivers delivering a total of 15W of power. While its relatively bulky build may weigh down a purse or tote, its size makes it ideal for stowing in a carry-on or camping pack.
Rubber panels line the sides of the Voombox Outdoor, and a control panel is situated at the top of the speaker with Bluetooth, Play/Pause, Power, and Volume Up/Down buttons. The volume controls also hand track navigation, and the Play/Pause button accepts and ends calls when using the built-in speakerphone feature.
Divoom rates the Voombox Outdoor's battery life at approximately 12 hours, but your results will vary based upon your volume levels. The speaker is NFC-enbled, but pairing via the Bluetooth menu on your device is alos a quick, simple process.
Performance On tracks with powerful sub-bass content, like The Knife's "Silent Shout," the Voombox Outdoor delivers a solid sense of deep bass at moderate volumes, but it distorts when pushed to its loudest levels. This isn't a terrible shock given the modest pricing of the speaker, but we have heard competing models in this price range avoid distortion issues. To be fair, the Voombox Outdoor also gets quite loud for a speaker this size and price, so it's trade-off between potential distortion and higher volume output.
Bill Callahan's "Drover," a track with very little in the way of deep bass, sounds quite rich through the Voombox Outdoor. His baritone vocals get perhaps a bit too much boosting in the low-mids, and not quite enough high-mid defintion to even it out. Things don't quite sound muddy, but there's a definite lean toward the richer lows; the speaker could really benefit from some crisper definition in the higher frequencies.
On Jay-Z and Kanye West's "No Church in the Wild," the kick drum loop gets just enough high-mid edge for its attack to retain some of its sharpness, but it doesn't slice through the layers of the mix with as much ease as it does when there's more high-mid sculpting at play. The sub-bass synth hits that punctuate the beat are more implied than delivered here—we get a sense of their power, but the raspy top-notes sound a tad muffled and the power of the deep bass isn't fully realized through the Voombox Outdoor's modest drivers.
The Voombox Outdoor is a great poolside speaker if you specifically need something water-resistant that can also get loud. If you're after a better sense of bass and clarity, most of our favorite Bluetooth options cost a bit more, but the UE Boom 2 ($79.50 at Amazon) (Opens in a new window) , the Braven BRV-Pro ($318.88 at Amazon) (Opens in a new window) , and significantly more expensive (and not as weather-resistant) Bose SoundLink Mini II ($248.00 at Amazon) (Opens in a new window) are all worth checking out. And if all of these are too expensive for your tastes, consider the very solid, compact $50 JBL Clip+ ($79.95 at Amazon) (Opens in a new window) —a steal in terms of quality and price.
