Fortunately, there are some simple steps that you can follow to replace your Volvo key fob battery at your own expense. Choose a clean, dry surface to work on. Then, you can lay out all the tools needed. Find the battery's hatch, and then open it with a flathead, coin, or another similar tool. Then, carefully remove the battery from its socket by lifting it up on the side that is closest to the key-ring loop. Use rubber gloves to shield the clips and electronic contact surfaces.
Place the new battery into the socket after the previous one was removed. Ensure that the positive side of the battery is facing upwards and that all clips are seated. Then slide the cover back down and toward the key-ring loop section until it is loose and falls off. Then, remove the cover to reveal the hidden key blade. This will be used to unlock your car from the driver's side If the battery for your key fob is dead or has been lost.
How to Start Your Vehicle
