Volunteer Position (Psychology) - Digital Mental Health for the MENA Region
Remote | Start: flexible | Duration: ideally at least 3 months | Min. 5 hrs/week | Language: Arabic (plus German or English)
About Us
We are an interdisciplinary team developing a digital mental health platform specifically for the MENA region. Our goal is to make culturally relevant, evidence-based psychological support accessible to people in conflict and crisis settings.
To achieve this, we are building a low-threshold, effective, and trustworthy app featuring psychoeducational content and self-help tools. In the future, we also plan to offer supportive online sessions for Arabic-speaking individuals in crisis regions.
Who We Are Looking For
To strengthen our psychology team, we are looking for motivated individuals for three different roles:
1. Psychologists (Master's degree) or Bachelor's with relevant additional qualifications
Completed Master's degree in Psychology
Ability to design and deliver psychoeducational workshops in Arabic
Interest in digital knowledge transfer and culturally sensitive content
2. (Trainee) Psychotherapists or equivalent qualifications
Advanced training in psychotherapy or already licensed
Willingness to conduct initial and follow-up sessions (under supervision of a licensed psychotherapist) in Arabic with app users
Experience or interest in working with individuals in challenging life situations
3. Psychology students or similar qualifications (internship possible under supervision of a licensed psychotherapist)
Creation of psychological content for the HAMD app (under supervision)
Recording videos and audio content for the HAMD app
General support within the psychology team

Conducting initial and follow-up sessions (for therapeutically trained applicants)

General Requirements
Very good Arabic skills (mandatory), fluent English
Interest in global mental health and culturally sensitive approaches
Independent and reliable working style in a remote setting
Team spirit and initiative
