PLEASE DO NOT PM ME. I STILL HAVE 2,000 messages to respond to.
So it looks like Volafile is going to die soon, if it is not already dead.
The host kicked the bucket and said no more.
An important takeaway is that whatever you are sharing, someone is sharing something worse and less legal.
I have exciting news coming soon. Watch this space :()
Is there an official announcement? I can't find anything.
Please no discord, they ask for my phone number.
This message was found in one well known volafile space:
Download servers are gonna be torched soon. I might wind this site down, I might not. We'll see. Frontend and chat functionality are gonna stay for a while. https://imgur.com/a/s8wxMBF
Idk, what i heard is that someone was going around uploading kiddie porn to a bunch of random file caches on volafile and the owner of volafile couldnt deal with it so is shutting the site down.
Again, i'm sharing out of print books from the 60s and others are sharing... well its less legal and it ruins things for everyone else.
I run a tight ship where we discuss adult topics like tank tread depth on snow. Thrilling stuff, but i've seen places where spam has destroyed any semblance of order.
I will be messaging you in 30 days on 2021-08-22 00:03:55 UTC to remind you of this link

ah noooo, Another sharing site bites the dust. Why do pedos always ruin everything. Did the volafile get attacked by why them big corporations like fony and ninspendo, like what has happened to other sites in the past. It pisses me off off because some types of ''piracy'' is archiving, ROM sites for example, we are not going to be able to keep things forever because of things like data rot (Data degradation), without sharing sites etc, things will fade away into time, sites Like These keeps things going and archived for future generations.rip volafile
everyone moved to telegram, and no ones giving out the links but if you spend 10 mins looking on google you can find it like l did the VK board wouldnt pm me the link so l just googled a few times and l found it lol
Volafile Status: The site had various issues with the hosts over the past year, mostly them being misinformed or acting on out of date issues that were already taken care of. Nothing illicit. This time was a last straw and Lain (owner) is sick of dealing with them, so he pulled all upload servers from Volafile. There are no files because there is nothing to upload to. Chat remains for now but the future for Volafile is undecided still as of today 21/7/2021. Volafile may become registered only or invite only but that is still up for discussion. All we can do is wait and see what is decided. The entire site is affected by this, not one single room. Some rooms still have files in, they are dead links that have yet to be pruned. Type /motd to see this post again.

\title {A Short History of Volafile}
\author {by bbaka \footnotemark [0]}
\footnotetext {With contributions from various Volafile Users}
This is dedicated to all the past and future Volafile users who used the \\
site in the spirit it was intended. You might not be recorded in here now \\
(or in the future) but hopefully the site has brought you some good times \\
and reading this makes you feel just a little closer to everyone at Volafile. \\
\raggedright Go upload some more files and stay outta trouble \raggedleft \\ --bbaka}
{ \centering Created using \LaTeX }
Volafile is a free, anonymous filesharing service created by a young German
fellow named Nils. It may be less than a year old, but it has shared a lively
history thanks to it's users (and a few bugs). Some of the more notable events
in it's history (and some of the less) are contained within these pages. Whether
this account of history is actually worth reading, I leave it up to you.

One day a guy called Lainex from Germany decided he wanted to make a neat file sharing site, so he did got to work and made one.
\includegraphics [scale=0.25]{images/lain.jpg} \\
While many users believe Volafile first appeared during September 2013, it was
actually first tested in June of that same year. This version was hacked together
with a chatango client and some duct tape. It was first linked posted in a thread
After running many tests on his lonesome and with a small group of users (back in June),
Lainex created a thread on 4chan's /g/ board. A simple picture of Yuki Nagato holding a
mouse in the air with the words `` File Sharing thread '' was in the OP and a link to a
room named /g/entoomen was provided. \footnotemark \\
\footnotetext {Little known fact, the \href {http://archive.rebeccablacktech.com/g/thread/S36862193}{real original thread} was deleted rather quickly and an identical thread was created in it's place about 10 minutes later.}

\section [ Volafile gets a new server ]{ Volafile gets a new server \\ AKA Whoops! Finland-Chan overloaded the server! }
(Ask Lain probably happened between oct-dec.) Yui decided it would
be a good idea to upload as much as he could to the Volafile servers,
resulting in the hilarious situation of the servers running out of
harddrive space. Users were unable to upload any files to the full
servers and Volafile's filesharing ground to a stand still. Shortly
after this incident Lain decided to invest in a second file storage
server for Volafile, a number which has grown over time to four.
It was November 4th and Lain felt that he was ready for some more
users, he decided it would be a good idea to make himself a
thread on Hacker News \footnotemark .
\footnotetext { \href {https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=6670113}{The post in question}}
What resulted from this was the servers being pushed to max
capacity as hundreds of curious people invaded Volafile.
Lain was forced to limit the max users per room to 300 and
then to 100 as users spilled out from their Hacker News
Volaroom and into the /g/entoomen room (and others) in
order to prevent his poor servers from overloading.
\section { The Great Japanese Immigration }
One day out of the blue, Volafile received an influx
of unexpected visitors, the Japanese. As it turns out
a popular Japanese blog had discovered Volafile and
written an article about it, this obviously caused
the eyes of many Japanese to turn on Volafile. A decent
portion of /g/entoomen being filthy weebs (at the time),
they of course were both over joyed and highly amused as
the Japanese users attempted to communicate with them. % needs more work include what blog it was and stuff like that
\section { A new invader appears, Morocco attacks! }
I'm not going to write this right now, but I'm pretty
sure it was mostly Moroccans that invaded that one time.
\section [ The Disappearance of Radio-tan ]{ The Disappearance of \sout {Haru} Radio-tan \footnotemark }
A much beloved feature of Volafile, Radio-tan was first
added in early November 2013. She could often be heard chanting
`` Onii-Chan '' in various ways and would always let us know what
Worth noting is her dedication to singing whatever the users
uploaded, even when endless hordes of David Bowie songs were
added to her playlist she never gave up. \\
While historians debate the exact date of Radio-tan's disappearance,
but they all agree it was sometime during March 2014.
\section [ Registered Nicknames ]{ Registered Nicknames, or How Volafile Learned To Stop Samefagging and Love Persistant Identities \footnotemark }
Feb something arather. Lain added a registration system to Volafile
allowing users to register nicknames. Registered nicks are shown
in the chat as a dark green colour. Following this update, Lain
also removed the authcode system for moderators, instead tying
moderator status to registered accounts.
\footnote {This made me quite the happy moderator}
While it seems like such a system would prevent users from continuing to samefag
\footnote {Use the same nickname as another user in order to deceive others, usually to make the actual nickname user look like an idiot.}
it is still an occasional occurrence as some users prefer to not register their
nicknames (as well as the fact that there are registered nicknames who have had their passwords shared.)
\section [ sekrit klubs 101 ]{ sekrit klubs 101: How to start a shit storm. (Lain adds Private Rooms) }
I'm gona write some stuff about secret clubs here.
\section { The Beginning of the Great Loli Prohibition }
Yui and Yuki left (kind of) Dark times descended upon Volafile when Lain
decreed that lolicon shalt be banned. Chaos reigns a
