Virginia Guiffre insists she is not suicidal after ‘credible’ death threat

www.independent.co.uk - Kate Ng

Prince Andrew’s accuser Virginia Guiffre has insisted she is not suicidal and was informed by the FBI of a “credible death threat” against her.

Ms Guiffre, 35, alleges she was forced to sleep with the Duke of York when she was 17 on a trip to London, having been trafficked by Jeffrey Epstein.

She tweeted on Wednesday that she is “in no way, shape or form” suicidal and said she was making it publicly known “if something happens to me”.

The revelation came in response to a tweet that said: “FBI will kill her to protect the ultra-rich and well-connected.”

Ms Guiffre also retweeted a message that said: “You aren’t suicidal, and if you die in an “accident”, it wasn’t no (sic) accident.”

Several hours later, she added to her original tweet: “In response to the overwhelming amount of support I have received, I want to say a huge thank you to everyone who is standing up beside me fighting for our children to have a safer future.

“I have been informed from the FBI there has been a credible death threat against me.”

Ms Guiffre came forward with her allegations in September and branded Prince Andrew as an “abuser” in a damning interview with NBC.

She spoke of being trafficked when she was 15, alleging that Mr Epstein “recruited” her for sexual activities while she was working in the locker room at Mar-a-Lago.

In an interview with Panorama, she asked the UK public to "stand up beside me, to help me fight this fight".

"This is not some sordid sex story. This is a story of being trafficked, this is a story of abuse and this is a story of your guys' royalty," she added.

Prince Andrew has strongly denied all of Ms Giuffre’s allegations and Buckingham Palace the accusations “false and without foundation”.
