For managers at Elite Models, sexual predation was allegedly a twisted game played with clubhouse jocularity, say media accounts.
And the young women dreaming of runway fame? They were the losers, according to allegations.
The predators allegedly kept a tally of the women they slept with, kept standings, and were assigned bonus points if the girls they defiled were virgins or underage.

Now, French cops are investigating the agency’s former Paris-based president, Gérald Marie who one former associate has described as a “sexual predator,” the Daily Mail reported.
And so far, 14 women are claiming they were either raped or sexually harassed by the catwalk kingpin. Marie is the ex-husband of Canadian supermodel Linda Evangelista.
For her part, Evangelista has gone on record as saying she believes the women.
“The younger they were, the more points, and the more virgins, the more points,” whistleblower Omar Harfouch told The Sunday Times .
“He [Marie] touched women’s breasts, bottoms… He always used very sexual and vulgar words when speaking about women.”
Harfouch outlined a horrific culture of abuse at Elite that ran from the 1980s well into the 1990s.
For its part, Elite — now under new ownership — called the lurid allegations “egregious and abhorrent.” The company has since been split in two with an American arm and one in Paris.
Over the years, Marie has fervently denied any wrongdoing.
Lebanese businessman Harfouch told the newspaper he is assisting French cops in their probe.
“I explained to the police, to help them in their investigation, how it worked,” he claimed. “Gérald [Marie] and a few bookers from the agency had a board where they would write down who slept with the most women. The criteria for this competition was their ages.”
He added: “The younger they were, the more points, and the more virgins, the more points. At the end of each fashion week, they would compare their exploits.”
Harfouch eventually left the agency in what was described as “acrimonious” departure.
One of the problems for the complainants — indeed any sexual victim — is that France has a 20-year statute of limitations on sex crimes.
Anne-Claire Le Jeune — a lawyer who represents accusers in the cases of Marie, Jeffrey Epstein and powerful modelling agent Jean-Luc Brunel — said things may be changing.
“It [the Marie accusations] is exactly the same scenario as Brunel, originally we are told everything is beyond the statute of limitations, we are not going to investigate facts beyond the statute of limitations,” Le Jeune told The Times .
“But when the investigators really pursue inquiries, they realize that there are other elements.”
Among the complainants are four British women.
Former BBC reporter Lisa Brinkworth, 53, claims she was sexually assaulted by Marie in 1998. At the time she was working undercover trying to expose sexual crimes in the fashion world.
American supermodel Carre Otis, 51, is also one of the complainants. She claims she was sexually assaulted by Marie when she was a naive 17-year-old in Paris.
“We are from an era where this behaviour was blatant. We have all known about perpetrators, there was no hiding their behaviour in any way,” Otis said.
“We still face a completely unregulated industry where perpetrators are still working, which is appalling.”
