Overall this hotel is fine, however with just a few tweaks it could be made much better.

Positives were that the adult pool area and general pool area were both lovely, plenty space in Sept/Oct and very clean, buffet had loads of choice for people with no food allergy/issues, different food every night and breakfast also great choice.
Location is excellent, close to the beach and all amenities, and the reception area was really clean and smelled lovely.

Unfortunately I require a gluten free diet and I'd heard they could cater for this. Which is fine, however the gluten free menu is very restrictive, they make this through in the kitchen which is fab but it's all very plain food with no thought added, plain chicken/fish/pork etc, with veg/chips/potato (veg portions were tiny!) or pizza, pasta, rice.... and breakfast was a plate of rice cake/toast/muffin/biscuits.

Now at home I eat healthily - I don't eat many gluten free substitutes, so choosing from white carbs for dinner most nights was not ideal for me and whilst I appreciate the care taken to make sure I ate something safe, no one came to ask me if I wanted anything else during my meal, so whilst my partner helped himself to plates and plates of all sorts of food I was left with pizza, or a few bits of plain chicken... not an ideal experience. I substituted my meal with food from the salad bar and eggs for breakfast, both seemed safe enough on the main buffet though the hotel suggest you don't use the buffet at all, however eating biscuits for breakfast with plain toast is ridiculous! As someone else mentioned you had to order dinner at breakfast so you had to guess what you fancied for dinner as well in the morning. The one day I had desert I was given creme brulee from a tub like you buy in the supermarket, they seemed to just be using the "gluten free" versions of things from the shop. No thought put into allergy menus. Also as this was prepared in the kitchen it left me sitting with no food while everyone else ate, then everyone watching me as I ate 15 minutes later! I know having a food allergy you expect things to be more difficult, I didn't get glutened which i'm very happy about but I didn't enjoy the food at all, I was eating because I was hungry, not because it was enjoyable. On the plus side the plain grilled meats were all excellent. Just not enough salad/veg The rooms were ok, however we also faced onto the back and this meant the kitchen/bins and noise early morning and late night. Additionally the walls were very thin so you could hear the TV and plugs/hairdryer of the neighboring rooms. The cleaner did clean every day but it wasn't a very good job, the floor was constantly dirty and sandy which meant the bed was therefore dirty and sandy when you put your feet in it, and the sheets were the same for the full 7 days so we were constantly having to try and get dirt/sand out of the bed (and it wasn't sand we brought in, we didn't go to the beach!) walking on the floor with bare feet meant your feet were filthy at bed time! The shower drain also wasn't draining properly and smelled on and off the time we were there The staff were pleasant enough but not overly helpful, they were terrible at explaining how things worked, such as having to open credit to pay for water at dinner, and having to get "tokens" for pool towels, nothing was made very clear. The times on the leaflet we got when we arrived with the pool opening times were wrong, and the pools opened late and shut early - obviously due to the season but I think an hour more each side of the day would have been appreciated. Luckily we didn't experience many issues that required us to communicate with staff too much, when I asked where the taxi usually picks up for the airport the person on reception had no idea. Overall if you want a base to explore this hotel is fine, it isn't however 4 stars and I am not planning on visiting this particular hotel again. I've heard really good things about the H10 salauris palace which is part of the same chain and nearby. More

Dear Kathleen, Thank you for your review, we are happy to read and know that this is the best hotel you have been. We look forward to welcoming you back in the near future. Best regards.
Arrived before 12 and bags kept locked away for us till we could get the key at 2pm. Private area to be able to get changed out of travel clothes. Staff on reception very friendly and helpful even though English not their first language they took the time to try and communicate with us. We upgraded to a superior double and were very impressed with it, large well appointed room with private balcony and loungers. The roof terrace and bar were excellent and very peaceful. Breakfast was really good and dinner was a good selection with friendly staff. My wife needs a gluten free diet and the hotel really went the extra mile with this. They asked her to order her meals for the evening at breakfast but by doing so she was able to have a specially prepared meal. All her meals were brought out to her and we found the staff looked after us extremely well. Hotel is very clean and the rooms cleaned to a high standard. My only gripe is that they did not replenish the coffee for the Nespresso but this is a very small point. Would definitely return.
Dear AndyMcN, We appreciate the valuable feedback that you provided to our hotel. We look forward to welcoming you back in the near future. Warmest wishes.
Vintage was my hotel of choice from a package holiday booking and I was very pleased with the majority of my stay. A few little niggles here and there, the aircon in the room was very poor and set at such a high temperature it gave little let up from the 27 degrees outside everyday. I contacted reception but they were less than helpful really. The room was nicely set out and fairly large with two single beds, a good sized bathroom with lovely toiletries and a large patio with chairs and a table. Unfortunately the patio overlooks a dirty yard with dustbins and the bottle bins which get emptied late at night so I didn't sit out there. It was nice to have a safe and fridge in the room, always a huge bonus. The room and hotel had excellent wifi which was fast and efficient and the hotel food was a fantastic selection to suit everyone's tastes. In fact I'd go as far as to say the nicest hotel food I've had in years and I stay in a lot! Really well set out dining areas, lounges and bar with nice friendly staff each day. No pool umbrellas unfortunately so I had to find a shaded spot as I'm not a sun bather really. But pool area was very good tho and fairly quiet in September which was great. There's also a option to hire pool towels for 10euros. Everything is in easy walking distance and close to the land train and airport bus stops. An easy five minute walk to the main beach which was perfect for my early morning swim everyday, there's a few shops along the way for buying snacks and general touristy items also restaurants and Michelangelo supermarket but I preferred the small supermarket directly behind the hotel. On the second morning of my trip Thomas cook unfortunately went into administration which obviously made the hotel panic as I was standing in my room naked when the door opened without staff knocking first and someone just threw a note in the door demanding I speak to someone on reception asap! It wasn't worded very well and obviously made people panic thinking they were going to be thrown out of the hotel and some people I spoke to the hotel had tried to charge them again for their booking! When I approached the desk they got a female manager to talk to me saying they just wanted to make me aware of the situation, when all they'd managed to do was make everyone stressed unfortunately. I also told her I was less than impressed that someone had just left themselves into my room, I was there as a solo female traveler so it's really not ideal! The next couple of days were fairly stressful as no one seemed to know exactly what was going on...later in the week thankfully another Rep turned up, flights got sorted for most people and the majority also still had the transfer they had paid for. The roof terrace and dip pool were very nice but again no umbrellas for shade. I would definitely stay here or in the local area again if I was in Salou but I would book a room with a nicer view and maybe just breakfast so I can experience other local restaurants. I wouldn't visit this hotel during the summer months tho as the aircon is too poor. The hotel charges 99c a night in tourist tax.
Dear Sarahwivak, Thank you very much on behalf of all the team H10 Vintage Salou for these wonderful comments. It is a pleasure for us to read that you would return to our hotel. We hope to see you soon. Kindests regards.
Having stayed in the H10 francise of hotels on several occasions,I had no difficulty booking this hotel. However I had some issues with the H10 Vintage Salou. The good point I found to be :- Excellent restaurant staff who were helpful and efficient. The food was good however I was disappointed in the selection particulary the veg. The Hotel was fully booked during my stay this is most likely the reason the restaurant was a 'bull ring' and dinner time. We found is benificial to go for dinner after 7pm when the initial rush had cleared. The dress code (for men) in the restaurant was not adhered to or enforced. During our stay in this hotel we were in a superior room with pool view. This meant we had a balcony with sun loungers. Which were great for the sun was on the balcony most of the day. However there are no chairs on the balcony, nor are there any easy chairs in the room. So if you want to sit and read or just sit, you have to sprawl on the sun lounger of the bed. I requested at reception for a chair and was told as we had sun loungers, chairs were not available. Now I like to 'sit' in the sun and read so I requested at reception could a sun lounger be replaced with a chair. The receptionist stated they woud see what they could do. NOTHING happened. The room (A double) had only one reading lamp beside the bed. We requested another bedside lamp and was told only one lamp per room was available. The room lacks storage space and had no drawers anywhere in the room. The TV has 80+ channels with ONLY one English speaking (CNBC A Money Market programme) But has you have no easy chair to sit and watch tv I don't suppose it matters!!!. At the end of our holiday a survey questionaire was but under our door, This was in Italian- French- & Dutch. Perhaps this is a sign of things to come with 'Brexit' All in all I just felt this hotel fell short of its 4* rating.
Dear Aljilyn Thank you for sharing your feedback. We apologize that you did not enjoy your experience with us. Best regards.
Just returned from trip to Salou. Very disappointed in H10 Vintage. The bedrooms were very small with very few clothes hangers or drawers for clothes. The bedrooms were cleaned daily but no fresh bedding all week. Drinking glasses were never replaced and we had to wash them out in the sink before use. Balcony door difficult to close so air con wouldn't work until door was slammed closed. Breakfasts were very good but evening meals were bland and food cold. Entertainment was poor at night, wasn't around during the day to see what entertainment was like.
Dear Stay First of all, thank you for your comments. We regret that your stay at the Hotel wasn't of your total satisfaction. Yours sincerelly
