Larry Caye was a prominent glamour photographer and contributor to many men's magazines. He also marketed his work and sometimes the work of others through his company The Latent Image. He offered slides, prints, and softcore films. He seems to have started the business in 1965 and closed it about 1998. There is very little factual information available so the purpose of this thread is to document this man's work by providing examples of his slides, prints, catalogs, film covers, etc. and constructing an overview of his career by examining the physical evidence.
*Please Note: only examples of his slides and prints should be posted here. If the model is known they should be posted in her thread (if one exists).
He originally offered black & white glamour type photos of models most of whose names will never be known. His medium naturally evolved to color and some of the models whom he photographed were introduced by him and some were already known. These included both softcore models and hardcore performers. Larry used a lot of unfamiliar names for these models (some of which may be their real names) but did sometimes use their more common stage names as well. So another purpose of this thread will be to sort out these identifications as best we can.
This is the Vintage Erotic Talk section so feel free to share your scans and your knowledge about this man and his company. Some of his work runs past the normal date limit for this section but in order to keep everything together post-1995 content is allowed in this thread.

Here's a list of magazine photo shoots where Larry was credited as the photographer. There are many more instances where his photos appear but he was not credited. This is especially the case with various European magazines.

His studio was located in the Los Angeles, California area. Different mailing addresses were used and these are:

The catalogs were normally stapled and measure about 4"x9". The supplements were about the same size but were single sheet fold-outs.
This example is the Spring 1987 Supplement and the 1987 Print Catalog which were combined into a single stapled volume. An explanation can be found at the upper left of the second scan. The printed page numbers reflect the form of the original separate documents and my file names reflect the page numbers of the combined catalog (not my scans).

I remember that company. In the 1960's they sold exposed, undeveloped 35mm B&W film.
You could develop it yourself and make prints. I purchased some rolls, but lost interest pretty quickly. The slides and prints he sold were of decent quality. IIRC he portrayed the models as being "new" and "innocent", but most were in the adult industry already.
I found out about them through a small ad in the back of a magazine. I did buy a few sets at about $10 or $20.

Here's the 1991 main catalog (my scans). In addition to these general catalogs supplements were offered throughout the year. The supplements were usually single sheet fold-outs totaling 8 or 10 pages.

I remember buying slides, prints and video tapes from this company.
None of which I have anymore. The VHS quality was so-so.
I wasn't into hardcore porn back then so I didn't realize that a lot of the models were porn stars.
One of the models I liked was SUSAN BRADY. If I'm not mistaken she later
become a member of the "Swedish Bikini Team" For those who don't know.
They were mascots for some beer company back sometime in the 80's(?)
Later she became PEGGY TRENTINI and appeared in some soft-core movies.
I also remember this company offered some TRACI LORDS sets.
I'm not sure but I don't think she was over eighteen at the time.

Speaking of Susan Brady here's an example of how the slide sets were packaged. The sets were normally offered with either 10 or 20 to a set. The slides were placed between 2 cardboard sheets which were stamped with the model's name and the set #. Then they were placed into an envelope for mailing.
TLI did offer Traci Lords slides and prints. They also produced a 10 minute softcore video. Larry Caye was one of the first to photograph her. She first appeared in the 1984 Spring Supplement and the video first appeared in the 1984 Summer Sale Supplement. He was so impressed he named her Miss Latent Image 1984. Larry was duped by her like everyone else; she was barely 16 at the time.

Ok; let's finish off 2015 by finishing off 1997. This is the Catalog of Single Girl Videos (24 pages). Johnni Black is on the front cover and Nikki Tyler is on the back. There is also a separate single sheet 2-sided order form.
svartalf has posted a set of images of Karen Peters (Mayfair name) as Norma from Clou no.01, 1979, photog. Larry Cayes, see here. That blue & white lace-trimmed top seems oddly familiar.
Niblets earlier found Karen Peters as Kim Gersh in Girlie Loops 06, some caps here, that may not be Larry Caye-related, but also perhaps still bear some consideration?

Thanks, effCup. Her TLI name is Jill Jordan; I've added the Karen Peters link to the database. The setting in the loop looks like it could be TLI but I haven't seen any direct evidence, yet.

These advertisements appeared in various photography magazines in the late '60's.
This brochure measures about 4.5" x 6.75" and seems to be purely promotional since no prices are listed. It's undated but I believe it is also from the late '60's. The return address on the envelope is from The Darkroom which has no direct affiliation with TLI as far as I know.
