Adventure Game Studio is an open source game-making tool for creating point-and-click graphic adventures in the tradition of Sierra and LucasArts titles like Space Quest and The Secret of Monkey Island. The first version was created by Chris Jones in the late 1990s, and as it was developed and expanded in the years that followed, a community grew that created hundreds of AGS games.

Arch Linux (or Arch /ɑːrtʃ/) is a Linux distribution for computers based on x86-64 architectures. This collection contains historical versions of all Arch Linux packages starting from September 2013. It includes both x86_64 and i686 packages, up until November 2017 where support for i686 was dropped in Arch Linux. This complements the Arch Linux Archive which only keeps old packages for a few years.

Images of Atari Computer (8-bit, 16-bit) floppy disks, done with flux-reading hardware and other similar methods. These will often require additional conversion/efforts to play in emulators or on systems.

This collection contains iso file images of the numerous open source BSD variants currently out there. This is an ongoing project and the current status is: adding FreeBSD isos.

Software from the Bithistory.org collection.

One of the most historically important artifacts to come from the home computer telecommunications revolution was shareware CDs, compact discs put out by companies containing hundreds of megabytes of shareware. Initially containing less than the full capacity of the discs (600mb, later 700mb) these items eventually began brimming with any sort of computer data that could be packaged and sold. As material "ran out", that is, as sellers of these CDs found they were unable to easily find...

The DEMU collection consists of files from shareware CD-ROMs in the 90's. The files are quickly scanned and uploaded through a (mostly) automated process. Information for the items are generated from either a file_id.diz file (if one exists in the archive) or from a files.bbs listing. If you have meta data on a title you would like to submit or would like a specific item enabled for online play please email me at swizzle@demu.org .

Disk Drives: Collections of Files from the Era of the Drive

With the introduction of offline storage (in the form of tape and punch cards, later floppy disks, hard drives and cards), computer users began to create and acquire all manner of data to use with their machines. Programs, textfiles, and later images, sound and moving image data would be collected in the course of computer ownership and maintenance. Over time, this collection would sometimes resemble a pile, or a library, or an archive. The unifying theme would only be that they were all on the...

Collections of software and libraries dedicated to the operation and maintenance of operating systems and hardware. See also the Driver CD-ROM collection .

This is a collection of various software programs that came on floppy disk media; while there are likely to be collections elsewhere at the archive, contributions often come in disparate piles of floppies and this collection holds them until being sorted more definitively.

The CKAN is a metadata repository and associated tools to allow you to find, install, and manage mods for Kerbal Space Program. NZB is an XML-based file format for retrieving posts from NNTP (Usenet) servers. The format was conceived by the developers of the Newzbin.com Usenet Index. NZB is effective when used with search-capable websites. These websites create NZB files out of what is needed to be downloaded. Using this concept, headers would not be downloaded hence the NZB method is quicker and more bandwidth-efficient than traditional methods. Each Usenet message has a unique identifier called the...

This collection contains .tar or .zip files of the collections of these sites, which are then browsable using the Internet Archive's archive view functionality. Created in 1971 (and refined in 1985), the File Transfer Protocol allowed Internet or network-connected computers to transfer binary and ASCII files between each other. A older man answers an ad claiming that the services provided will foster an erection and ejaculation - two women, initially in nurse's uniforms and eventually nude, make it all happen - a fun 6 plus inute, if this kind of film is your idea of fun.
