The 1999 vintage produced a mixed picture in France . It was an excellent year for red Burgundy and Grand Cru and top Premier Cru wines will still be drinking nicely. Northern Rhône Syrah also excelled and Hermitage and Côte Rôtie should be worth seeking out.
However those regions elsewhere in the country which are capable of producing long-lived wines fell below this level. This applies to Bordeaux, and the Loire. Overall, it was not a year for long cellaring in Champagne .
In Italy, Brunello di Montalcino , top Chianti Classico and Super Tuscans are, in general, a better bet than Barolo and Barbaresco . Some of the top producers in northern Spain rated the vintage highly, but consumers need to pick and choose.
Sweet German Riesling Eisweins and Trockenbeerenauslese, if you can find and afford them, may have several decades more life ahead of them. In Austria, Riesling and Grüner Veltliner were excellent.
It was a great year for Hungary ’s Tokaji. The sweeter wines from the region represent as close to a sure thing as one might find when it comes to sourcing 1999s which will last well beyond two decades. Both Armagnac and whisky are available from this year, and are likely to be drinking well.
Top-end Argentine and Chilean reds will have survived a couple of decades nicely. The trick will be to find them outside their home countries.

Perfect little smooth Sweet smoke to calm my nerves on my lunch break. I work in a high stress environment and Rocky is always able to help me stay focused and keep my head on straight.
Great quick smokes that can be enjoy anytime of the day. I prefer to have them in the morning times with my latte. Make sure to smoke them slow because if you try to rush they will get really hot on you.
My wife occasionally enjoys a cigar with me but she likes her smokes on the lighter side. Lately I have introduced her to Ashton's and to these 1999 Rockys. She said she really enjoys the creamy smoothness of the Connecticut's.
A long time go to for me. Guys always used to tease and say that the real premiums have to be strong my reply is always the same. Bullsh!t these cigars are right up there with the davidoff Grand Cru both exuding that creamy complex smoothness along with flawless construction.
Immaculate burn every time on these Toros. The buttery Connecticut wrapper gives way to almost a pure White Ash. Background notes of honey cinnamon and cedar are also present
Rocky Patel Vintage 1999 Petit Corona
Best word to describe it it's buttermilk. Like a sweet buttery pancake these petits are best enjoyed at breakfast time accompanied by a good cup of coffee.

Full of flavor and complexity yet mild and smooth.
This is a great stick. Very smooth and slightly creamy. I detected earthy flavors and what I'd call "minty". Very consistent flavor past the band. Excellent construction with a perfect draw, burn and ash. There is absolutely nothing wrong with this stick but in this price range, Connecticut wrapper, mild to medium bodied....I prefer AVO by just a smidgeon.
The Rocky Patel Vintage 1999 Churchill is an icon in the world of cigars, and for good reason. This is an all around 10/10 smoke, with a great mild flavor. Long enough to be enjoyed for a relaxing smoke with your drink of choice.
