videowork coming from Liuba's performance at Galerie Parisud, Paris. This project investigates the ambiguity of the limits between ‘public space’ and ‘private space’ and the dynamics of relationship with the other. It raises questions about the blindness of love and the power of senses. The performance begins ‘by surprise’ during the opening of the gallery, without announcement, melting art action and everyday life. There is no difference between the audience and the performing couple ( Liuba as the woman). The exposal of the naked bodies imposes interpretations and suggestions on love, it’s character and relationships, and raises questions about decency and censorship. Tolerance, Yin and Yang, Light and Shadow, Relationship between sexs, races, oppositions, homage a Magritte, are some topics and reflections evocated by this performance. Since the 1960s, Franz Erhard Walther has been considering the action as the “form of the artwork” (Werkform). The series of Standing Pieces emphasizes the process as artistic gesture. On the theater stage, the parts of the Dreiteiliges Standstück (Standing Piece in Three Sections) (1975) are laid out in optional, irregular forms, but relatively near to one another. At first activated by the public, the standing pieces are at some point entered by two nude models: male and female standing motionless, till together they move to another section. The iron pieces each have two spaces that due to their inequal size pronounce a feeling of left/right. The person who stands in the larger segment theoretically has a certain freedom of movement, however, in practice he or she will usually assume a stable posture, although still deciding whether to be closer or further away from the other person. www.thisistomorrow.info
