Vibe Check: What Was NFT NYC Like Amid a Bear Market?

Significantly, the company unveiled a ton of major news at its biannual Ledger Op3n conference. For example, Ledger announced that it will sunset its hugely popular Ledger Nano S line of hardware wallets. The event saw performances from Amy Schumer, Questlove, LCD Soundsystem, and Lil Baby, to name a few. In fact, famous Bored Ape holders Eminem and Snoop Dogg also took to the stage. Not only that, but the pair even debuted a brand new song and music video featuring their Bored Apes.

Members from top-tier communities such as Bored Ape Yacht Club and Doodles showed up in full force to one of the largest NFT (non-fungible token) events. We couldn’t find video from the inside of the Goblin Town party, but this one from the Azuki party looks pretty terrible. Speaking about marketing ploys, the NFT NYC protestors whose photos took over social media had to be fake.

To celebrate the opening, SuperRare is co-hosting a two-day party at the space on June 20 and June 21, and auctioning off a new Corvette NFT by the artist Xsullo for the occasion. The work, titled Own the Color, comes with a physical version of the depicted Corvette Z06, in the color “Minted Green,” created by the artist and unique to this project. It would’ve been possible to partake in a full week of events attached to NFT NYC and never step foot inside its central hotel—and that's the route many took.

The super fun event featured a bunch of fun and interactive experiences, Cool Cats merch, and even a “History of Blue Cat” with Cool Cats co-founder and artist, Clon. Indeed, there was a steady stream of FOMO-inducing footage flooding NFT Twitter throughout the four days of NFT NYC. The fourth annual NFT.NYC conference welcomes more than 1,500 crypto experts to speak on NFT gaming, film, music, blockchain technology, and more. If there’s nft mart that has become apparent within the NFT space over the years, it is that success is proven to breed more success.

nyc nft mentioned that the new generation of high-quality games is coming to the blockchain by the end of this year. Many companies and NFT projects picked NFT NYC as the right time to announce their latest news. Among the most notable ones was the blue-chip NFT project Doodles, which recently launched a sequel called Dooplicator, announcing that Pharrell Williams is now its Chief Brand Officer. In the midst of a deep bear market, the NFT community gathered on June 20–23 at the biggest non-fungible event yet.

This was the largest NFT.NYC yet, and it came less than a year after the close of 2021’s conference . Over 15,000 attendees, 1,500 speakers, and 9 venues spread around Times Square and its neighboring blocks. There were 20+ categories for the three days of talks and events focusing on Art, Film, Music, DAOs, Fashion, Brands, and Sports to name a few. Brands (Coach, Squarespace, Estée Lauder, The Philadelphia Eagles…) were sharing their experience and ideas on entering the NFT market, and how these ideas can grow and develop over the coming years. Since its inaugural conference in February 2019, NFT.NYC events have hosted thousands of attendees, hundreds of leading speakers and the best NFT projects in the Non-Fungible Token ecosystem. But NFT sales skyrocketed during the pandemic, and now a number of eminent public figures and brands have begun to invest in them. While throngs of marketers descended on the beaches and red carpets of Cannes, thousands of digital creators, brand executives and rising stars from the tech world gathered in the dirty streets and elegant party venues of New York City for NFT.NYC. For a full scope of what’s to come next week, check out the draft program here and brace yourself, it’s 46 pages long as of today, meaning there are hundreds of events to choose from. The NFT.NYC 2022 speaker lineup included more than 1,500 NFT community members.
