I was fifteen, and the scale and melodrama seemed designed for me. I wanted to live in a world that looked like the photographs: they seemed to match my own emotional weather. I took notes on several pictures of the faces of young girls—all about my age. I thought they were the most beautiful photographs I had ever seen.
They found that 20% of young people were exposed to sexual images online and 11% received unwanted requests to engage in sexual activities or conversation, or to provide sexual images.
We also find that young people are frequently exposed to violent pornography, depicting coercive, degrading or pain-inducing sex acts; 79% had encountered violent pornography before the age of 18. Young people expressed concern about the implications of violent pornography on their understanding of the difference between sexual pleasure and harm.
