Vertiv, a US-based global digital infrastructure company, has launched its Vertiv Training Academy and Technology Excellence Centre at its Integrated Business Services (IBS) hub in Pune.
The new facility is designed to equip engineers, business partners, and data centre professionals with hands-on training in real-world environments. The Academy features live setups of advanced cooling distribution units (CDUs), power switchgear systems, and three-phase UPS modules, enabling trainees to gain practical experience across colocation, cloud, enterprise and telecom networks.
Alongside the Academy, Vertiv has also unveiled its Technology Excellence Centre, which houses R&D and engineering labs focused on innovation in power and thermal management. These labs enable full-cycle testing, validation, and optimisation of Vertiv’s digital infrastructure solutions, aimed at improving energy efficiency, reliability, and sustainability in global data centre operations.
“Pune has become a strategic global delivery hub for Vertiv, with plans to scale rapidly,” said Subhasis Majumdar, managing director, Vertiv India. “With the surge in AI investments across the data centre space, we expect a significant demand for a skilled, adaptive workforce. This training academy will play a pivotal role in upskilling engineers and customers to design and service next-generation facilities.”
Ryan Jarvis, vice president, global services business unit at Vertiv, added that the Pune hub strengthens the company’s global service network. “India is an integral part of our services ecosystem, enabling consistent excellence and agility for customers worldwide. This launch reflects our mission to ensure continuity, efficiency, and future-readiness in critical infrastructure.”
According to David Yao, senior director – Pune Hub, the Academy will serve not only Vertiv employees but also global partners. “By combining experienced trainers with live systems and advanced digital tools, we are building the skills needed for installation, maintenance, and continuous improvement in high-density data center environments,” he said.
Featuring five dedicated training bays and modular content aligned with Vertiv’s global standards, the Academy serves as a hub for AI-driven learning, advanced cooling and power technologies, and continuous innovation.
