I bought this for my brother-in-law for our Christmas “Secret Santa”. He wanted something traditional, yet different. I knocked it out of the park with this cologne! He LOVES IT. I then bought it for my husband and it’s now his favorite. I don’t know another way to describe it other than comfortably familiar and SEXY! It’s the perfect scent.
I love the original John Varvatos recipe and ordered this, the second release, on the whim of the first. They are very different. While the original is completely rockstar in my mind, this one smells like it belongs in an authentic jazz setting. This sat in the cabinet for some time until I ran out of the original (whoops) and had to use something. After putting it to work for a few weeks I have to say I don't regret the purchase. I still intend to restock on the original, but this one definitely has its place.
I prefer Tommy Bahamas line of colognes and I actually thought this sent was similar in vibe with Ralph Lauren‘s Safari. But before I got used to it my son told me how much he loved it and I gave it to him as a gift. I would say based on its overall quality on balance and smell that it’s worth the money I paid compared to bottles of the same pricing.
This is my normal Fall/Winter cologne. Has a very nice tobacco musky smell.
I note that this was recommended by a beautiful woman because I find that to be an important detail. One of my friends was flipping through a magazine when she came across this (with the scent on the page) and she immediately text me saying it smelled awesome and reminded her of me. I went to a local store (where is was over $80) and smelled it, it smells very manly and "vintage" leather, wood, etc.. very manly, but sleek and great. I do not like the really clean smells, and this was perfect. My only complaint is that people have to be really close to smell it. This isn't too bad as you don't want to be leaving scents behind everywhere you go, but it also means the cute girl who you want to smell it, might not.
Review update:2020 If you an authentic perfume from Macys or Sephora, it will definitely last long. Not the Amazone one The smell is perfect. One of the best perfumes. But it lasts very small amount of time. I have to change this review because I am now using it on daily basis .... and I could tell it does not last
I received the product the day it was estimated. It arrived in a box that was all damaged, but luckily all the padding inside protected the package and there weren't any damage to it. I hadn't smelled this product before. It was recommended by friends when the discussion of the 'sexiest' cologne was surfaced. It was described as 'sex on a beach with the scent of burning cinnamon on side'. I was going to a concert that week, and I figured I wouldn't mind smelling like that. Sprayed the cologne on my inner-elbow, wrist, and neck that evening. The smell reminded me of a spicy Eternity, as if Eternity got wiser and started dating women that knew what they were doing as opposed to girls that just knew how to dress and put make up. The smell lasts about 5 hours on me. The last note is the best when it becomes a mix of 'fresh' and cinnamon.
I purchased this for my husband, who never wears cologne but does use Old Spice products (think Original, Champion or Swagger scents, not Fiji). I wanted to find a cologne that would closely match those scents. Now my husband, smells delicious! This cologne is pretty strong at first, but mellows out quickly to a more subdued scent. It doesn't last all day, so you might have to reapply if you want to smell good all day. I've come to expect that with most colognes though. That's the only reason why I'm giving this four stars instea of five.

Great price for a great aftershave
Couldn't believe the price of this for such a big bottle! My step dad loved this when I got it for him the first time and had been asking if you could still buy it. I was over the moon when I found it on here at such a great price. Although it's an EDT, the fragrance lasts a long time and it smells lovely.
