Slowly from the corner of her eye Emma noticed movement, slow at first but moving carefully towards a slither of light. As she focused on the broad expanse of solidness that came into view a small window opened up in the ceiling of the prison, the light bathing the walls and the monster she had wanted so much to see clearly with her eyes. Her breath tightly grasped at her chest filling her lungs but refusing to release the air. Before her stood the most feral man she had ever seen in her life with wide shoulders expanding his frame on both sides and jagged ripples of muscle lining his stomach, arms and legs as though he were carved from the roughest stone a man could find. His hair looked unkempt and uncut and his smooth skin appeared the colour of milk regarding the expanse visible from his worn jeans up to his corded neck. He wore no shirt and no shoes but mercifully his manhood was covered by a thick layer of dark and dirty denim only adding to the terrifying portrait of his visage. I liked the relationship that was beginning to be built between Val and Emma. I think that was the best part of the piece. I was less interested in Alex and his role in this story. I struggled with his position of power and his goals. The sex scene was okay. The continuation of the series is predictable as the sex will become more pornographic. The degradation will counter the intensity I suspect the two will feel for each other. It is a clash of conscience.
I wasn't very impressed, I was expecting a nice smutty vampire novel - this has non consensual sex and just had a depressing story to it. I think this was more of a horror novel than a smutty vampire read. I couldn't even finish this.

I love vampire books and this is a fantastic addition to my collection!. I love how it starts off with a sweet virgin!. Plus how torched Val is by having to take her innocence. Emma does not want to die ,but can she submit to this sexy torched vampire?. You will love this scorching hot, sweet, and touching romance!!!

One of the most poorly written books I've ever tried to read. This author is in desperate need of a proofreader.
I really enjoyed this book. It was very graphic in details. It really showed you how it would be if you were a slave girl.
The short story kept me interested to read the next book in the series, however the grammar errors were annoying ..
This was a good short book to read. It leaves you wanting to know how she fairs in the next one
