Valley Odds and Ends

Volunteers can meet at Bicentennial Park at 9 a.m. rain or shine and will work in teams. Gloves and trash bags will be provided.

Teams will plant flowers, pull weeds and 건마 pick up trash in downtown Parkersburg.

Work will continue to noon, then lunch will be provided by Downtown PKB.

With cleanup day, Downtown PKB also is holding its Adopt-a-Pot program. The program is a commitment by businesses and residents to water, weed, and maintain a sponsored flower pot or pots from mid-May until October.

Soil and flowers will be purchased by Downtown PKB and planted on the cleanup day. Those who have adopted a pot are Kristen Board, Impeccable Construction, GFWC Parkersburg Woman’s Club, Realtor Brittani Rupe, Keurig Dr. Pepper, the Fourth Circuit Public Defender Corp., Maka Mia Pizza;, the United Way Alliance of the Mid-Ohio Valley, Mary Kay consultant Angel Cunningham, Kimberly Bennett and Jessica Knopp of eXp Realty, Stout Memorial United Methodist Church, First Neighborhood Bank, Pack 4, Essential Hands Massage Therapy, Balanced Solutions, Butcher Family Farm, Julie Linville, TOPS Chapter 0611, The Cocktail Bar and Highmark West Virginia.

A sign with the sponsor’s name or business will be placed in the flowerpot.
