its veryy tight i dont know what to do...its kinda small and ive never tried to put a tampon becoz im scared...its also strange different....i can't put anything in it ...aw im so embarassed about it!!is it normal?my hymen is strong i cant put in anything when i try it stops me automatically...its actually a fleshwall blocking the entrance and im sick of it....many people say that you can put your fingers in when you are a virgin! but im worried cause i can't...ive seen a picture with a normal pubescent's vagina but it was way too small it didnt have lips on the outside...compared to mine..im scared and worried...i cant fit anything in it...do i have any disease??should i visit a doctor or talk to my mom about it?(im wayy too embarassed to talk with my mom about such things...i think she will poke or go angry or tell me there is no such thing i have to do my homework blah blah blah)
I grew up thinking my vagina was abnormal. I was so scared the day of my 1st gyno appointment that I was some sort of freak. The lips on girls vaginas can be more insidish like a lot of diagrams/photos or more outsidish. Mine were more out which always freaked me out. As for the tampon, my 1st time using them I got Playtex Gentle Glide Slender ones because they are skinnier. I couldn't find the hole right away either. Kind of take your finger and start from closer to your bum, then trace forwards slowly and feel gentle for it. You can sit in front of a mirror and look even, thats not weird, you're just getting used to your body.

Hun, I know exactly where you're coming from. In fact, I just recently started considering that I have a condition called vaginismus (vaj-eh-niss-muss) - which means that your pelvic floor muscles that surround your urinal tract system, your vagina, and your anus are too tight and can lead to impossible penetration (sex). People with this can have problems with tampons and fingers as well. What can trigger this condition is fear, abuse, or your body is just in lockdown just because it's trying to protect itself for no apparent reason.
But first, are you sure that you're trying to insert your tampon in the right area? I remember when I was your age I was just finding out so much about my vagina, and didn't even know where the hole was until a bit later. Look at diagrams and how to insert tampons. If it's not allowing you to insert the tampon, just try to relax your body, and keep telling yourself that there's no pain involved, it should just glide right in.
If you're still having problems, talk to a doctor. You're going to have to talk to your mom as well, I know exactly how you feel though. I have to tell my mom soon too, and it's very nerve wracking. But if I can do it, I know you can. I'm sure she will be thankful that you're telling her now at such an early stage in your life. See, I'm 18 - and I'm just now starting to speak up. Use this to your advantage.
It's normal. There are small thin tampons available if you are interested. You just seem very normally curious about your body. If you are embarrassed to talk to your mom about this, try someone else at a health clinic where they can answer all your questions. Nothing is too embarrassing.
