WATER CONTACT DANCE

If you’ve ever wished you could feel pleasure and confident in water - this is for you.

Dancing in the water helps us to feel a connection with our own bodies, and the joy of sharing this experience with others. In water, we soften, we open, and we embody new ways of relating. 

There is a rare state where you can be in the water without swimming or performing, and at the same time remain in real contact with others. A quiet pleasure of experiencing your body in water, in shared movement.

What we will explore:

— how to feel more comfortable and supported in water, maybe in a way you haven’t experienced before

— how your breath can slow down and find its own rhythm, especially when you are moving and connecting with others

— what happens when you let your body move more freely, without trying to “do it right”

— simple ways to float, shift weight, and use less effort in the water

— how to arrive more into your body and sense it from within, rather than control it

— different ways of connecting with others through movement - in pairs, trios, and small group explorations

— how to stay in contact while still having choice, space, and your own rhythm

— what you can start to notice and listen to beyond words, through touch, timing, and subtle movement

— how being in water can change the way you relate to closeness, support, and shared experience

Concept

Water softens habitual patterns and opens a different quality of connection -

one that feels authentic, clear, and alive.

What often takes time on land can reveal itself here more quickly, through fluidity, support, and the intelligence of the body in water.

In your body, in the water, with others.


This is for you if:

- you love water and curious to try something new, even if it feels a bit unknown

- you want a gentle, non-judgmental space to explore your body and movement

and

You acknowledge your need for belonging and meaningful connection with others.

You recognize your readiness to cultivate deeper ways of listening, being present, and relating with authenticity and care.

You are open to exploring new ways of connecting that feel nourishing, honest, and alive.

And you feel curious to experience this in a water environment.

Practical

where: a beautiful natural spots on Koh Phangan (shared after registration)

when: May 7, 

9:00–12:00 lunch break 16:00-19:00

This experience is in shallow water, where you can always step on your feet.

No swimming or dancing skills are required.

Nose clips are part of the practice and will be provided to support ease and comfort.

This is also a beautiful experience to share with someone close.

This can be approached gently and step by step, in individual water therapy session.

Facilitated by

Karina Gezatsyan is a certified somatic psychologist, water therapist and water contact dance facilitator with a deep commitment to supporting people in reconnecting with their bodies and the water element.

Her background in contact improvisation dance and therapy allow her to create safe space for exploration and connection.
