Uzbekistan in the latest report of the Transparency International on “Corruption Perception Index 2019”

Transparency International has published its latest report on “Corruption Perception Index 2019”. According to the report, the Republic of Uzbekistan improved its score to 25 points, rising by 5 positions and taking 153rd place. Georgia (56 points), Belarus (45 points) and Montenegro (45 points) have taken the highest positions in the list of countries of Eastern Europe, with a level above the world average. Meantime the counters of Central Asia: Turkmenistan has acquired 19 points, Uzbekistan and Tajikistan 25 points each.

It is worth to note that Belarus, Kyrgyzstan and the Republic of Uzbekistan have significantly improved their positions in the Corruption Perception Index since 2012.

Based on the report of Transparency International for 2019, there is virtually no corruption in the following countries: Denmark and New Zealand have taken the 1st place (87 points), Finland 3rd place (86 points), Singapore, Sweden and Switzerland 4th place( 85 points).

The Corruption Perceptions Index (CPI) has been developed since 1995 on a scale of 0 (highest) 100 (lowest) by Transparency International as a composite indicator that measures perceptions of corruption in the public sector in different countries around the world. It does so by aggregating different sources of corruption-related data that are produced by a variety of independent and well known institutions, such as the World Bank, the World Justice Project, the African Development Bank, the Economist Intelligence Unit and others.
