Uniswap Labs settles with the US CFTC for $175,000 on charges related to derivatives trading

Uniswap Labs has settled with the US Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) for $175,000 on charges related to offering "illegal digital asset derivatives trading."

The CFTC emphasized the need for DeFi operators to ensure that transactions comply with the law as digital asset platforms and DeFi ecosystems evolve.

Uniswap Labs, the developer of the decentralized exchange Uniswap, has previously received a Wells Notice from the US Securities and Exchange Commission.

This settlement comes as part of the CFTC's continued efforts to enforce the Commodity Exchange Act in the evolving digital asset space.
