The cot is cushioned, features mesh sides for better the airflow, and the mattress is made of high-density, foam for extra protection. It's also washable so that you can keep it clean, and it is fitted with a sheet that is suitable for use with the cot.

Contrary to other cribs that are bedside unlike other cribs for bedside use, the Roomie Glide is suitable for the majority of beds, including divans, thanks to its straps and clip attachment. It can also be used as a standalone crib when not attached to the bed. It's packed with amazing features designed with parent-baby bonding in mind.

It is important to remember that this crib won't last as long after your baby turns six months. You'll need to purchase a larger crib. Overall, Roanna found that the Joie Roomie Glide was a really good buy and she especially liked its elegant design.

Anna discovered that it was sturdy and secure once attached to her bed. The legs snapped into place and the zippers were secured for security. It took her about 10 minutes to assemble and didn't require tools, with clear instructions and a video or customer support number if you run into any problems.

As well as the usual features you'd expect from a crib that is bedside such as the ability to be connected to your bed using a stay-in place connection system and six levels of height, the CoZee has an additional incline option that can be used to alleviate reflux or congestion in infants. It's also machine-washable, a necessity for all the dribbles and vomit that come with having a new baby!

With the addition of a sofa bed extension pack, it could be transformed into an bed. Although it can't magically put your baby to sleep or feed them, it will rock the baby and take them to school.

This is one of the more expensive models, but it is packed with lots of features. It can be used as either a side-sleeper or a standalone crib and is suitable for infants from birth to six months. It comes with a new mechanism to open and close the side panel and is easy to use even with one hand. It's also more flexible than the previous model, with 11 different height settings and retractable legs for a secure fit underneath any bed.

Our testers loved the ease of access to the side panel that can be flipped up and down by pressing the button. This was particularly helpful at night, as they could reach in and pick up their baby without waking them.

The side panel can be removed on its own however, it's not advised as it increases the risk of your child falling out of the cot. However, the safety locking mechanism ensures that it will only remain in place when it is attached to the bed properly. This feature is great to have peace of mind when you are breastfeeding and need frequent nighttime feeds.

Telescopic legs permit the Chicco Next2Me Magic to be used with any bed, such as divan bases and beds with drawers. It also comes with an option to tilt for babies with reflux and a rocking mode to help them sleep after eating. It's also extremely spacious and offers great ventilation due to its mesh sides.

Our test participants found the Next2Me Magic easy to set up and use, although it does come with lengthy instructions. It's a bit heavier than some of the other side-sleepers, but it's very portable and can be moved from room to room with ease. It's also able to fold into a bag for travel, which is a great option if you want to transport it. The only downside our testers found was that the side panel didn't flex like some of the other models, making it difficult to observe your child from your own bed.

The kit for conversion to cot (sold separately) is also well-designed, with clear instructions and everything you need to get started. It took us around an hour to assemble, and was reasonably straightforward. The only downside was the absence of captions written on some of the pictures which made it difficult to comprehend certain steps. However, overall it was a simple process and the quality of the materials used was high.

The Shnuggle Air is a great choice for mothers who are breastfeeding or have had an e-csection. It lets them reach out and touch their baby for comfort and feeding without leaving their bed. It's ideal for parents who don't want to deal with the burden of putting their infant in a traditional cot, or getting out of it.

The motion of gliding was found to be extremely helpful in lulling babies into sleep following feedings at night or midday.
