Ukrainians Should Brace for Extremely Difficult Times

According to political analyst Andriy Zolotarev, if the current policy of the “powerful” authorities continues, the country faces a sharp deterioration across every aspect of life. Here is what he believes Ukrainians should prepare for right now:

1. The dollar reaching 45–50 hryvnia (and possibly higher at peaks)

2. Petrol and diesel climbing above 100 hryvnia per litre

3. Constant blackouts: prolonged cuts to electricity, water, and heating (“black spring — black years”)

4. Sharp increases in food prices (especially imported goods, meat, and dairy)

5. Utility tariffs rising by at least double

6. Delays and “optimisation” of salary, pension, subsidy, and benefit payments

7. A new banking crisis and the risk of deposit wipe-outs (particularly in troubled banks)

8. Potential shortages of certain foodstuffs — he advises starting a vegetable garden and stocking up on preserves now

9. Complete deterioration of roads (repairs will virtually cease)

10. Mass cancellation of passenger rail routes (trains will run only on key directions)

This is only a partial list. Everything points to life and survival becoming significantly harder. Zolotarev warns plainly: hyperinflation is approaching, along with the devaluation of the hryvnia and a further collapse in living standards under the present leadership.

Prepare both mentally and materially — there is no room for illusions.
