▪️Following a request from Defense Minister Fedorov, SpaceX has begun restricting the speed of drones controlled via Starlink over Ukrainian territory.

▪️At speeds above 90 km/h, Starlink communication is disabled. This, without additional modifications, makes it impossible to use the system on fixed-wing UAVs.

▪️However, helicopter-type drones, including FPV and heavy copters, continue to operate.

▪️The restriction also applies to Ukrainian UAVs, as evidenced, in particular, by the sharp reduction in Ukrainian air strikes in Crimea. Starlink is unable to accurately identify specific accounts used to control Russian drones in a short period of time. ▪️A speed limit of 40 km/h was previously imposed, for which technical workarounds were found, including proxy boards.

▪️Currently, Starlink determines coordinates and speed directly through the satellite constellation, but the developers believe a new solution will also be found over time.

▪️An early adviser to the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense stated that SpaceX has already taken the first measures against Starlinks on Russian drones.
