June 29, Very sad, though I guess he realised that caught with that lot, he would have been finishing his days in a Thai prison. It seems a lot for personal use, so I suspect he may have been supplementing his. What a fool. While i am a pro choice person when it comes to drugs, i am also of the opinion that when you do get busted you go quietly and take your punishment like a man. I guess the onl. Gosh its the Thai's fault again A, for a moment there I thought they might just blame the farang dealer He was a resident in Khon Keen some years ago, and clean at the time. I believe he had recently had a baby. It could not happen to anyone But using or dealing any kind of drug in Asia is insane. There are so many people who will 'give you up 'for a reward. Thais and farangs alike. Sounds like the Brit didnt think he could pay the fine and couldnt do hard time so he pancked and fled. No where in the article does it say anything about him being 'a user' or being 'addicted'. They found ' four more small bags of marijuana, 80 methamphetamine pills, five bags of crystal meth and seven bags of cocaine. I highly doubt an addict or a 'casual ganja smoker would be carrying that much of that many different drugs. He obviously knew that if he got caught he'd be facing a long stretch of hard time. If it had of been just 'a tiny bag of marijuana' he could have claimed that it must have fallen out of the pocket of some kid he gave a ride to and probably skated away with a small fine assuming the cop even saw it and why would you leave it exposed like that in the first place. If the old guy had of just sat there with phone in hand and told said he pulled over to call the wife - end of story most likely. Desperate people do desperate things and more often than not, they don't work out the way they hoped they would. He was a friend of mine too-He was originally from England and suffered from depression -and of course addiction to many mind changing drugs including alcohol. He struggled mightily but in the end his addiction bat him -as it does many people -He deserves our sympathy -'There but for the grace of God go I'. He leave a grown up son in Iceland and a young daughter here in Thailand as well as a really supportive and loving Thai wife. May he rest in peace. Best be careful out there! Someone set this old guy up for sure! The whole 'wisdom comes with age' thing is BS. Many of the most stubborn, stuck in their ways, and narrow minded people I've met, have been elderly. Thanks for your post and sorry to hear of this tragedy. I've battled with addiction in my past too, mainly prescription anxiety medications that turned into pure evil. I'm way passed that now though, so I know that just because someone is wrapped up in drugs, doesn't make them a bad person at all. They are merely suffering and hurting deep within. My condolences to the family. I agree that this is the most likely scenario as I doubt that the police being there was purely coincidental. You won't make any friends here with that lousy attitude, especially as some of his friends are members here and the deceased leaves a wife and young daughter. Grow up. Make friends on this forum?? Thank god for that. He should have thought about his daughter before he started getting involved. Why would anyone interested in making money from drugs do it here where the punishment is so harsh. If you're that way inclined, why not go to a western country to carry out business? If you're caught, you'll probably get off with a soft sentence in a cushy jail. Not many dealers would think of the consequences whatever country they are in. Alcohol is not a drug. While it and nicotine are addictive and are the 2 biggest killers, despite being legal. There are many addictive drugs, cocaine, heroin, and countless ones given buy doctors, or even over the counter at a drug store. Cocaine is not physically addictive. And for your information; alcohol is a drug. Yes, he may not have been a user as you say. He might have fled because those who supplied him wouldn't to be named if he had been caught and talked. We all have to pay, one way or another, for what we do in life and this man has paid the ultimate price. Sad both ways, involved with illegal drugs, and that any family, if he has any in Britain, have lost someone. My condolences to them. Some people here have no compassion. People with mental disorders, including alcoholism and drug addiction deserve the same compassion as someone with a disease like cancer, or HIV. The two things that baffle me are the police being out at '9pm' and a 'patrol car'. Neither of those two seem to be a trait of the BIB. I've never seen the police patrolling anything, for months - years - let alone that time of night. They must have either been lost, or their car had broken down earlier. I travel regularly from Bangkok down to Pranburi, quite often there is a midnight onwards check point so they do this at nights. If this guy was supplying your siblings with drugs, would you still have the same compassion for him, I know I wouldn't. I think the point some are trying to make is that anyone can find themselves in a situation where they end up making bad decisions. Some fortunately do not choose this road, others do. Each to their own. You need to be a member in order to leave a comment. Sign up for a new account in our community. It's easy! Already have an account? Sign in here. Don't just read! How will that affect their family relations Wall street very convinced ,its gonna be Trump So sue the man and win in court. Take him down! Said Talon But this poster is not being honest because if anyone were to sue trump in a court of law, with trump's lawyers and his 'heavyweights', they would get nowhere, or indeed they would have to settle for a few cents in the dollar, as has often been the situation in cases like this. In fact it more often than not it costs the plaintiff more than they've actually invested or can reclaim, so this poster is playing games and is not being honest, so best ignore him, mainly because he doesn't live in the real world, just the trumpie Maga one, best ignored. Here is an example of one investor who believed trump's promises and lost big time, and there are many others. Trump is a grifter, conman and thief Flint is a retired financial planner who wanted to buy a vacation home for his family. In , after seeing a new development planned for a location in Baja, Mexico, he put down a deposit so he could have a beachfront getaway just one hour from San Diego. Trump plugged the property in a promotional video as if he were the builder. They invest in me, they invest in what I build, and that's why I'm so excited about Trump Ocean Resort,' Trump said in the video. Flint said although he received a settlement payment, he still lost six figures. Mealy bug problem Good points! And enfeebled also by nutrient deficiencies and reduced natural resistance to pests. Oily residue and the smell of neem oil is objectionable to some gardeners and for some edible plants. Mealy bugs can be water-jet sprayed off to greatly reduce numbers, and also on some types of plants can be rubbed off with a rag or cotton-glove. I recently used an insecticidal soap solution to knock down mealy bug infestations and ants along with it on some customer's plants. Then biofertilized to begin building soil, plant health and resistance. To make this at home, you will need: Sprayer: Any clean spray bottle or garden sprayer will work fine for spraying insecticidal soap. Pure Soap: Use a pure liquid soap, such as Castile, or all-natural soap. Pure Water: Tap water is fine for making insecticidal soap. If you have hard water, you may want to use bottled water to prevent soap scum from building up on your plants. This is the concentration usually found in commercial sprays. The lighter solution might be less effective but is gentler on plants. Cooking Oil: To help the solution stick a little longer, add two tablespoons of light cooking oil such as corn, canola, olive, or safflower per gallon of water to the mix. Vinegar: To make a spray that also targets powdery mildew, add a teaspoon of cider vinegar per gallon of water to the mix. Bar Soap: For a less-exact recipe, drop a bar of pure soap such as organic bar soap or Ivory into a gallon of water and leave it overnight. Remove the bar and shake well before spraying. First and foremost. Eliminate Harris. What is she hiding from? Unheard of. Second place a close second goes to Warren. The rest are no longer relevant. This time it's personal Phuket is a big province. There are great areas in Phuket that are not over run with tourists that many simply aren't aware of. I lived in Phuket from to , and returned, purchasing a luxury condo unit in with direct beach access and a fabulous unobstructed and close sea view. Let the masses of tourists hang out there - I much prefer the more quiet spot in Phuket where I live. Frankly - the average tourist AND the average expat never explore Phuket enough to find the quiet spots. Instead they delve into the over run tourist areas, they generalize, they note how over run such is, and then blindly believe all of Phuket is like that and leave Phuket. Please excuse my being selfish, but I am happy Phuket is not explored more by those who criticize. It keeps some less known areas in Phuket quiet, and that's good. It keeps the quiet areas for those of us who took the time and made the effort to explore it more, and kept such areas for those of us who prefer the more quiet spots. And those who criticize typically find good areas elsewhere in Thailand that they like - so it becomes a win-win. We each find what we like. I do grant, Phuket traffic, if driving north south is horrible. I also note one can also say that about some other areas of Thailand - so in that ugly aspect Phuket is not unique. I feel fortunate in my day-to-day life because of the location I choose I rarely have to put up with the worst of the Phuket traffic. Enjoy the part of Thailand where you settle. I sincerely hope you do enjoy where you stay , And I enjoy the quiet sunsets many nights, and enjoy watch many a red dusk over the water, all of which can be fabulous, Honestly - the worst part of where I live is it demotivates me to want to travel anywhere else. Despite that, I do thou try and manage to travel for about 2 to 3 months outside of Thailand every year. Since retiring in Phuket, I am a lot more fussy now as to where I visit outside of Phuket, Death of Yahya Sinwar Delivers Major Blow to Hamas Yea bet they can't wait to get the same amount of corrupt stolen cash he had and hide in a bunker while they sacrifice the Gazan civilians. A team of police, officers from the Patrol and Special Operation Division and local officials raided the room at Tonkoon Hotel around 5. Upon seeing the officers, they tried to flee, but 22 people were caught, Pol Maj Gen Phitsanu Unhaseri, chief of Udon Thani police, said during a media briefing. They were charged with colluding in having illicit drugs in their possession, violating the emergency decree and the disease control orders. Udon Thani governor Sayam Sirimongkhol said an initial interrogation found that these people visited an entertainment venue and later went to the hotel allegedly for a drug party. They made an appointment at the hotel via social media. The governor threatened to take legal action against the operator for negligence for allowing illegal gathering. Small Medium Large.
