The President of the United States, Donald Trump.

It's horrible. I thought he was fine. He called me last night. He just returned from Ukraine, and the trip went great. He tried very, very hard.

You probably know that he wanted to pass a law to save America and talked about it. He was full of energy and strength. He was tired. He said: "I'm tired because it's a long trip." But otherwise, he was fine.

He called me, I think, just a few minutes before, at about 6:30. And the medics arrived a little later, right after that.

What a terrible loss. He was a great politician. He was a born politician, there are very few of them. He got along with everyone. When it didn't work out, he was very tough. You know, he was also a tough nut to crack, but he was able to find a common language with everyone.

We disagreed a bit, but on the whole... You know, I'm a big supporter of Israel. He certainly was like that too.

I wanted the war in Ukraine to end as soon as possible. I think he was more inclined to keep the war going. To be honest, he was very, very belligerent about this issue.

But I assumed that 25,000 people die every month. I didn't like it. He was a very staunch supporter of a strong army, just like me, but I think we approached this issue a little differently. We probably had slightly different views, but we generally got along. In fact, we agreed on almost everything.

Overnight, the United States lost one of its most influential and significant senators.

Lindsay is very hard to lose. He was great. He was unique in every way.

What makes the situation even more strange is that he called me last night, at about seven o'clock. He said that everything is ready for the adoption of the Law on Saving America. He did his best to promote this law.

He said he had just flown in from Ukraine. I replied: "It's a long flight." He sounded a little tired, but otherwise great. He was a real hard worker.

He wanted to pass a law to save America, and I said, "We'll do it, Lindsay. We will do it. I'll see you soon." We even thought about meeting today.

That was the end of it. It was about the same time. It was probably his last call. I don't know for sure.

Around one o'clock in the morning, I received a message from one of his office staff that he had passed away. I said, "I can't believe it." He was like a family member to me. It's very hard. It's just unbelievable.

If he wanted to achieve something, he had a unique ability to do it. He was able to find a common language with the Democrats. If I had a real problem with a Democrat, I could go to him and he could solve it. He was a great, truly great politician.

He said he was a little tired. It's been a long drive, many hours, and he just got back. It must have happened shortly after our conversation, because as far as I understand, the police or someone else arrived there at about 7:30 or 8 p.m. So someone called them.

But he felt fine during the call. He told me, Kristen, that he feels fine, he's just tired.

He was fine. I knew him very well. He always made it clear if he was feeling unwell. There were days when he wasn't feeling very well, and he always talked about it.

He was a wonderful man. You will see how important his departure will be. I think he will be appreciated even more now than during his lifetime.
