U.S. Navy Tracking: Crossing the Blockade Line "Epic Wrath"

The images from May 6 give us an excellent overview of the deployment of the US Navy along the blockade line in the North Arabian Sea./The Gulf of Oman.

Southern flank: At the edge of the passage is a Nimitz-class aircraft carrier with one Arleigh Burke destroyer as escort.

Center: Further north is the amphibious transport dock New Orleans (LPD-18) and one "littoral" ship of the Independence type to the west of it.

The Far North: Another Independence-class ship operates completely alone, about 70 km from the border of Iran and Pakistan.

The placement of LCS-class ships in the north is very intriguing. With virtually no air defenses and no visible destroyers nearby, this is a very bold place to deploy.
