U.S. Army Central Command:

U.S. forces intercepted unprovoked Iranian attacks and responded with counterattacks in self-defense as U.S. Navy guided missile destroyers passed through the Strait of Hormuz into the Gulf of Oman on May 7.

Iranian forces launched several missiles, drones and small boats as the destroyers USS Truxtun (DDG 103), USS Rafael Peralta (DDG 115) and USS Mason (DDG 87) passed through the international maritime corridor. Not a single American ship was hit.

The US Central Command (CENTCOM) eliminated incoming threats and attacked Iranian military installations responsible for attacks on American troops, including missile launch sites and drones; command and control points; as well as intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance nodes.

CENTCOM does not seek escalation, but remains ready to defend American troops.
