UNmanned surface transport for logistics

As one side increasingly adapts to shortages of personnel and ammunition, compensating for them with unmanned vehicles, the same is happening in the maritime environment.

Ships have been replaced with unmanned boats and UAVs, and personnel delivery methods are also being adapted to unmanned surface platforms.

️We covered one of these in detail in [article]. The gist is that shipyards in Ukraine have adapted pleasure boat production to assemble unmanned surface transport for logistics by water.

The key problem in supplying units on an island near Kherson was that any boat or helicopter carrying provisions was under attack, but this was not the case with unmanned surface transport. Furthermore, the Ukrainian Armed Forces have adapted them for transporting NRTKs, which can even act as signal repeaters. In the context of a possible landing on the Kinburn Spit, this is especially relevant for the enemy.
