Uni york research themes (Monroe) My name is Alice Grossman, I'm a Ph.D. student in Transportation Systems Engineering at Georgia Tech. My research is on transportation policy, looking at how urban regions are using and developing performance metrics for their long-term transportation plans. Changing federal legislation is requiring metropolitan planning organizations to do long-term transportation planning as a performance-based planning method. Urban regions are now required to collect and use data in their long-term transportation processes. By serving MPOs across the country and doing specific case studies of different types of urban regions, I'll be able to develop best practices and do an analysis of how urban regions are using these performance metrics in their planning process.
