Tyler Perry Pledges $10 Million to Support Homeless Veterans in Atlanta

Atlanta, GA – May 11, 2025

Renowned filmmaker, actor, and philanthropist Tyler Perry has announced a groundbreaking $10 million initiative to combat veteran homelessness in Atlanta. The donation, one of the largest of its kind, will fund housing, job training, and mental health services for veterans in need.

Speaking at a press conference at Tyler Perry Studios, the entertainment mogul shared his personal connection to the cause. 'My father was a veteran who struggled after his service,' Perry said. 'No one who has sacrificed for this country should ever have to sleep on the streets. This is my way of giving back to those who gave so much.'

The funds will be distributed through partnerships with local nonprofits, including Veterans Empowerment Organization and Habitat for Humanity, to build affordable housing units and provide comprehensive support programs. Atlanta Mayor Andre Dickens praised the move, calling Perry 'a true champion for our city and its heroes.'

Perry’s generosity continues a long tradition of philanthropy, including previous donations to disaster relief, education, and healthcare. With this latest effort, he hopes to inspire others to take action. 'If we all do a little,' Perry said, 'we can change lives in a big way.'
