A Twitch streamer called Shulyyyyyy was recently banned for flashing while using a Spongebob picture as a cover.
Darya, more commonly known online as “Shulyyyyyy” is a Russian Twitch streamer and internet personality. Her Twitch channel has more than 96k followers and averages around 280 viewers per stream. Shulyyyyyy’s Twitch channel is ranked #559 among Russian channels and #7759 overall. She usually streams in the Just Chatting category while occasionally streaming games like Dota 2 and various other games. She is also very active on Instagram and Onlyfans.
During Shulyyyyyy’s recent stream, she did something against Twitch’s TOS that got her banned from the streaming platform.
A Twitter Bot called StreamerBans recently published the news of Shulyyyyyy’s ban. According to the StreamerBans website , this is her 7th ban on Twitch. She has been banned five times in 2021 alone, but the duration of the ban was 2-4 days each time.
During Shulyyyyyy’s January 28 stream, she put a picture of Spongebob in front of her and then took off her clothes behind it. The top of the streams showed a donation bar and the text “Remove the Spongebob”. The donation progress bar had a goal of 20,000 Ruble, implying that she would remove the picture of Spongebob after reaching that goal.
Soon afterward, Shulyyyyyy got the ban hammer, and the stream ended. But, she managed to reach the donation goal and even crossed it by 200 Ruble. But, for obvious reasons, we cannot share the video or clip from her recent stream.
Shulyyyyyy later responded to her ban, saying,
“Ban 3 days! This was the best stream ever!!”.
From her response, it seems like she isn’t too bothered by her recent Twitch ban.

Twitch users are outraged after a streamer was banned for a week after broadcasting an extremely NSFW stream. Twitch is one of the biggest platforms in the world and allows just about anyone, provided you haven't already been banned from it, to show the entire internet what they're doing. Sometimes they're playing games, watching YouTube videos, hosting elaborate productions, or just showing their daily lives like a live vlog. It's an incredibly powerful service and one that has had no shortage of controversial moments over the years. In 2021 alone, there was the rise of hot tub streams , a major leak that revealed streamers' payouts , and much more.
Now, Twitch users are once again up in arms over the platforms inconsistent bans, an issue that has been raised numerous times over the years by a number of prominent creators. Twitch streamer kimmika_ was banned for a week after having sex on stream. The streamer's peculiar position in relation to their desk, along with a man's head seen behind her appeared odd to viewers; however, there was a window reflecting everything on her side, meaning not much was left to the imagination. After seeing this, ex-Twitch streamer Jidion6 accused Twitch of being "sexist" and "favoritism", noting he was permabanned after doing a hate raid on Pokimane, but a streamer having sex was banned for 7 days. Jidion6 has since smoothed things over with Pokimane and the two have become friends, but is still banned from the platform. Jidion6 went on to create a YouTube video about the issue and also started a hashtag called #TwitchRespond, asking Twitch to address the matter publicly.
As of right now, Twitch has yet to issue any sort of statement on the matter. Twitch users are voicing their frustration on Twitter, noting an inconsistency with bans across the platform. This has been an ongoing concern for years, but this incident has led to more outrage than ever before.
What do you think of how Twitch handles bans? Let me know in the comments or hit me up on Twitter @Cade_Onder . You can view some community reactions below.
LLLLL TWITCH how you gonna let a girl get banged and only give her 7 day ban and give Jidion a permanent ban because beef with poki but was settled after and they became friends. #twitchrespond pic.twitter.com/n1L3Obgdvt
#twitchrespond How was I, a family friendly streamer with 0 punishment history permanently banned when someone who literally had SEX ON STREAM gets banned for seven days? This isn't right https://t.co/aFiI6r2Axa
Normally I don’t do hashtags because I much rather silently respond with severing my support but the inconsistencies are so blatant that twitch owes its creators some type of explanation #twitchrespond

#twitchrespond girl literally said that she would shoot up the twitch hq, and gets banned for less than a month? Most racist and sexist platform out there pic.twitter.com/ZOQyYfSFLf
YouTube and Twitch have been shooting themselves in the foot for the past years. So, I’m glad both JiDion and Cory are calling them out on their bullshit. #twitchrespond pic.twitter.com/y7wjgQjcm5

A hugely popular gamer girl with a legion of fans – who live streams herself at home playing video games all day – has been banned from Twitch . Why? Well, she’s been ‘accused’ of showing a little too much flesh by flashing her p*ssy to her fans. And we say ‘accused’… She definitely does.
26 year-old Lea May , who uses the username LegendaryLea , online uses Twitch to broadcast her gameplay footage on the internet. And people watch it. Because she’s good? Maybe. More likely it’s because she’s hot. And flashes.
Anyone trying to access her profile now is met by the message, “The community has closed this channel due to terms of service violations.”

2021 has barely started with there already being many Twitch users banned from the streaming platform- here are all of them so far.
February is coming to a close, with a lot having already happened on Twitch in both January and February. While the rest of 2021 may have even more high-profile Twitch bans, the ones that have already happened are still notable.
Not all of the causes of these Twitch bans are currently known. However, some of the ones with known reasons range from copyrighted music usage, to the extreme of threatening the streamer's own children.
Many of these Twitch bans have been updated and tracked by Twitter user StreamerBans. The Twitter bot keeps track of and posts the unbanning/banning of partnered Twitch streamers. Unpartnered Twitch streamer bans have generally been made known due to either high-profile incidents, or connections to other streamers.
In the first half of January alone, Twitch has banned:
The majority of these bans were not permanent, with many getting access to their accounts and audiences after only a few days. Additionally, these bans were not the first for many of these users with some streamers such as fernandemiguels and SuppyColleen being banned twice within January's first half.
Moving on to the second half of January, one of the most famous Twitch bans took place during this time. The Twitch bans that occurred during this time were for:
Out of all of these Twitch bans, the most well-known and discussed one is the banning of former US President Donald Trump from the streaming platform. Donald Trump's Twitch ban is confirmed by Twitch representatives to be indefinite, following the attack on the United States capital during January. Twitch isn't the only platform to ban Donald Trump from personally using it with other websites such as Twitter and Instagram also preventing access from the former US President.
Despite February being the shortest month of the year, there are still many known users to be banned from the platform during this time. The majority of these bans were not permanent and only lasted around a couple of days to a week. Others however did result in permanent bans due to the initial reasons for the ban in the first place.
Starting with the first half of February, the Twitch users that were banned during this time were:
Continuing forward are even more Twitch bans to finish out the month of February that occurred after February 15, 2021. Like the majority of the others listed, many of these bans were lifted with many streamers also being first-time offenders. The last of the streamers banned in February are:
As the year goes on, hundreds more Twitch bans and unbans will be seen by the fans of various streamers. Many bans are currently being blamed on Twitch's copyright system which has seen even the official Blizzcon 2021 livestream on Twitch being edited to avoid copyright problems. Other bans, such as with Mini Ladd, are due to allegations of predatory behavior toward fans.
The future is unclear when it comes to who will be affected by Twitch bans and what alarming news may be revealed about certain streamers. With Twitch being a platform where streamers are watched intently, anything against the Twitch terms of service will likely be caught immediately.
