Company Overview:
The Tutor Vault is a London-based boutique tutoring company dedicated to delivering exceptional, personalised education to students across the UK and internationally.
Founded in 2018, The Tutor Vault has supported over 200 students in achieving their academic goals, with a strong track record of examination success, improved confidence and measurable academic progress.
We specialise in premium, one-to-one tuition across the British curriculum, including 11+, KS3, GCSE, IGCSE and A-Level, alongside specialist academic preparation and university admissions support.
Our approach combines academic excellence with personalised teaching, high expectations and genuine care for every student's development.
As we continue to expand, we are looking to build a talented, diverse and supportive community of tutors who share our passion for education. We believe that great tutoring goes beyond academic knowledge: it requires patience, enthusiasm, professionalism and the ability to inspire a lifelong love of learning.
We are not simply looking for individuals to deliver lessons. We are looking for educators who want to grow with us, develop their teaching skills and make a meaningful difference.
Role Description:
We are recruiting enthusiastic and academically accomplished individuals to join The Tutor Vault as Online Tutors.
This is a fully remote, flexible opportunity, ideal for experienced tutors, university students, graduates and high-achieving A-Level students looking to develop their teaching experience.
Tutors will deliver personalised, one-to-one lessons through Microsoft Teams, working with students across a range of abilities, academic levels and learning needs.
Key responsibilities include:
* Deliver engaging, high-quality one-to-one online lessons in your chosen subject(s).
* Tailor teaching approaches to individual students' academic abilities, learning needs and goals.
* Prepare structured lessons aligned with the relevant British curriculum and examination specifications.
* Support students with subject knowledge, examination techniques, revision strategies and academic confidence.
* Monitor student progress, identify areas for improvement and provide constructive feedback.
* Maintain professional, supportive and respectful relationships with students, parents and The Tutor Vault team.
* Demonstrate reliability, punctuality and consistency in lesson delivery.
* Contribute positively to our growing community of tutors, sharing ideas, resources and best practices.
Qualifications and Requirements:
Essential:
* Strong academic performance and demonstrable subject knowledge in at least one subject offered by The Tutor Vault.
* Excellent spoken and written English, with the ability to communicate complex ideas clearly and confidently.
* A genuine enthusiasm for education, mentoring and supporting young people.
* A professional, polite, patient and approachable manner.
* Strong organisational skills, reliability and a positive work ethic.
* Willingness to learn, receive feedback and continuously develop as an educator.
* Familiarity with the British curriculum, or a willingness to develop a thorough understanding of the relevant examination requirements before teaching.
* Access to a reliable internet connection, a suitable teaching environment and the equipment needed to deliver online lessons through Microsoft Teams.
* Commitment to safeguarding, confidentiality and professional conduct.
Highly Desirable:
* Current study at, or a degree from, a Russell Group university or another highly regarded UK or international institution.
* Previous tutoring, teaching, mentoring or academic support experience.
* Strong GCSE, A-Level, undergraduate or equivalent academic qualifications in your chosen subject.
* Familiarity with UK examination boards, including AQA, Edexcel and OCR.
* Experience supporting students of different academic abilities and adapting explanations accordingly.
* A long-term interest in teaching, education, mentoring or professional development.
Previous teaching experience is highly valued, but it is not essential.
We particularly encourage applications from motivated university students, graduates and high-achieving sixth-form students who are looking to begin their tutoring journey.
We recognise that academic achievement alone does not make an exceptional tutor. We are equally interested in individuals who demonstrate enthusiasm, patience, initiative and a genuine desire to improve.
Candidates from leading universities, with advanced qualifications or substantial teaching experience, may be considered for higher hourly rates in recognition of their expertise.

1. Introduction and discussion: An opportunity to learn more about you, your academic background, teaching interests, availability and motivation for joining The Tutor Vault.
2. Five-minute mini-lesson: You will be asked to prepare and deliver a short teaching demonstration on a topic of your choice within your preferred subject. This allows us to see how you explain concepts, structure information and engage a learner.
