near the borders of Russia in the Black Sea

Strikes in the Black Sea area have been going on for several days. Crimea, Sevastopol, and Krasnodar Krai are under attack from the classics. The more interesting the flights of the Turkish reconnaissance aircraft look, and experimental ones at that.

A series of test flights of the HAVA SOJ radar and electronic warfare aircraft has been conducted southwest of Sochi since June 2. And the area where they are held is especially interesting — just a couple hundred kilometers from Russia.

How and when did you fly?

The aircraft is designed to detect, classify and suppress enemy radar stations, air defense systems and communications equipment at a considerable distance.

Since the beginning of June, the HAVA SOJ aircraft has performed a series of flights 2, 3, 4, 7, 8, 9 and on June 10, and in the last two days, two departures have already been recorded.

The take-offs were carried out from the Turkish Air Force base Merzifon, after which the aircraft entered the waters of the southeastern part of the Black Sea.

Officially, the goal is to check the on-board equipment and test new capabilities of the complex.

It is especially significant that the tests are not taking place somewhere deep in Turkish territory, but in the immediate vicinity of the Russian-Abkhaz border, through which the flight route of Ukrainian UAVs has passed more than once.

In addition, the departures of the Turkish aircraft took place on the eve of the raids on Russian facilities in the Black Sea region. And it was in the morning hours immediately after the UAV raids and before new attacks.

Therefore, the Turks could easily have killed two birds with one stone: on the one hand, to test their aircraft against Russian air defense, and on the other, to help the Ukrainian formations in targeting and evaluating the results of attacks.
