The Naruto series are super popular among cosplayers, and these 14 Tsunade cosplays prove just how much dedication pulling the style off takes.
Before Naruto, Sasuke, and Sakura were trying to survive a ninja war and battling a celestial being, they were ordinary young ninjas simply just trying to get by. They go through many hardships like the Chunin Exams that severely wounded Sasuke and an invasion that cost the Third Hokage his life. In order to fill the void and help the injured ninjas, Jiraiya and Naruto go searching for a powerful media ninja.
Enter now: Tsunade. She became the leader of the Hidden Leaf Village and willed to restore the village. With her monstrous strength and medical skills, she became loved by many Naruto fans. As a result, there are many cosplays of her.
Update June 23rd, 2020 by Louis Kemner: Although the original Naruto story may be over, the legacy continues in the follow-up series Boruto , and this franchise is bound to be cherished by the anime community for years to come. It's never too late to pay homage to this series' most beloved characters and scenes, and that includes lady Tsunade, the fearless 5th Hokage and the noblest of the Sannin. She's such a wonderful topic for cosplay, ten entries aren't quite enough. Let's make it 15, and see how Tsunade cosplay is done.
After meeting up with her old teammate, Jiraiya the Toad Sage lies down some disturbing news. He tells her that their old sensei, Sarutobi, is now dead. The Hidden Leaf Village is in need of new leadership, and that is why he came to look for her. At first, Tsunade quickly declines the offer to go back to the Hidden Leaf Village. However, after meeting Naruto and remembering the dream of those who have passed, Tsunade realizes she needs to carry on the Will of Fire as well. Astroavis posted an amazing scene featuring themselves as Tsunade looking at the Hokage Rock from the game Jump Force . The photo -- taken by bunniloid and edited by Clulessness -- is a collaboration of people and assets that came out beautifully.
The Naruto series focuses a lot on the two boys of Team 7. As a result, fans will always remember the bond Naruto and Jiraiya shared and the twisted relationship between Sasuke and Orochimaru. However, Naruto and Sasuke aren't the only ones trained by a Sannin. Sakura, in order to get stronger, begged Lady Tsunade to train her as well. From then on, the two become closer, and Sakura learns medical ninjutsu and how to throw a punch stronger than before. Tsunade, Jiraiya, and Orochimaru are the three students of the Third Hokage, Hiruzen Sarutobi. The trio fought during the Second Great Ninja War. After being the only three to survive Hanzo of the Salamander's several attacks, they were nicknamed the "Legendary Sannin." From then on, they are known as the renowned ninjas of the Hidden Leaf Village.

Tsunade is not only a skilled ninja and an incredibly strong warrior, but she also has a few tricks up her sleeves... were she wearing any. One of those tricks is the Strength of a Hundred Seal. Tsunade stored up her chakra into her forehead since the end of the Second Great Ninja War. Once she released the Strength of a Hundred Seal, Tsunade has access to all the accumulated chakra, making her even stronger than before. Domi_cosplay's post has Sabi.tch as Tsunade with her seal released. It is cool to see someone cosplay as a Tsunade with her Strength of a Hundred Seal's marks on full display.
Many people were accepting and happy to have Tsunade as the new Hokage. Jiraiya and the elders of the Hidden Leaf Village all wanted her to be the next leader, but Naruto wasn't as comfortable with the news. Upset with the fact that someone who belittles the title of Hokage will become the next one, Naruto challenges Tsunade to a fight that doesn't end in his favor. Karinaquartarollo's photo recreates that fight. This picture is definitely a great trip down memory lane as Naruto shows that he is no match for the Legendary Sannin.
Every ninja village has a leader that governs it. Those leaders are known as Kages. During the meeting at the Five Kage Summit, fans are introduced to the other Kages of major ninja villages. One of the Kages is Mei Terumi. She is the leader of the village hidden in the Mist.
Like Tsunade, Mei is the fifth Kage of her village. Tsunade and Mei Terumi are the two female Kages that are introduced within the series. Ncromance cosplays as both Kages in this post. The cosplay is really appealing, with the hairstyle and clothing looking exactly like the anime characters.
When Tsunade was younger, she had a lot more to live for. She wanted to see her younger brother grow and become the Hokage that he admired. Unfortunately, her brother's life was cut short, but Tsunade didn't stop fighting. She created the idea that ninja squads needed a medic ninja. However, her spirit was finally broken when the man she loved ended up dying, as well. This Tsunade cosplay by yuiiuchiha shows off that young Tsunade look. It is an amazing side by side look because the two look like twins.
Besides Tsunade being a powerhouse and a medical genius, Tsunade is also the granddaughter of Hashirama Senju. Hashirama is the first Hokage of the Hidden Leaf Village. Hashirama adores his granddaughter so much that he nicknamed her "Princess." Since she was her first grandchild, Tsunade inherited his necklace after he died.
The two were very close, and this post of jucarnavalli as Tsunade really sells it. The two really look good in the picture and capture the two Hokages well in this picture. It is nice when the cosplayers really put the personality of the characters into the pictures.
With incredible physical strength, Tsunade is known for being the strongest female ninja. You can see many feats of her strength throughout the series. She can effortlessly punch a hole in the wall, swing a giant sword at an even larger snake, and break the ground apart with a single attack.
This picture shows off Tsunade's strength really well. Angry.ducklings as Tsunade poses as she breaks the ground apart underneath her. The editing is so good in this picture that it really looks like she is destroying the ground below.
As Naruto and Jiraiya travel the land in search of Tsunade, Jiraiya gathers any information he can about her. While doing his reconnaissance, he learned that Tsunade is spending her time mostly playing card games in different cities. This is when Jiraiya tells Naruto that Tsunade is an addictive gambler, but she isn't very good at it.
Because of her horrible skills at gambling, she is known as the "Legendary Loser." Asmr_mood's picture is a good one because it is very unique. By holding up a hand of cards, this cosplayer reminds people of Tsunade's random but hilarious flaw. This post is a good look back because it is one of the first things that fans learn about the expert ninja.
Tsunade has a lot on her mind, and not just because of her duties as the 5th Hokage. She has a serious history with both Jiraiya and Orichimaru, and her past weighs heavily on her. No one can blame her for needing some time alone.
In this lovely photo shoot, the cosplay depicts Tsunade in a tranquil and remote forest next to some rapids, and she is glancing away as she contemplates the past and what is yet to come. No one will find her out here, and that's the way she wants it.
Tsunade is one of five people in the world with this kind of authority and responsibility. She is the Leaf Village's #1 ninja, the Hokage, but there are four more kages besides her, such as Gaara the Kazekage.
This Tsunade cosplayer is making a lovely group shot with a cosplayer of the Raikage, the leader of the Cloud Village. They get along great, and they are both incredibly powerful on the battlefield and protective of their respective villages. It seems the Leaf and Cloud villages enjoy strong diplomatic ties.
Many of the characters in Naruto wear unique and flashy outfits, so they stand out from each other and can have iconic looks. It's mostly the "redshirt" ninjas who wear ordinary uniforms and thus look similar to each other.
Still, Tsunade is a practical person, and she has been seen wearing the Leaf Village uniform, often in flashbacks. Even then, she's looking pretty good, and that outfit is totally practical for delivering some serious punches and kicks, Tsunade style.
The final cosplayer reminds us that Tsunade used to be a lone agent, but now she is responsible for the lives of every man, woman and child in the Leaf Village. Now she's like everyone's tough and cool mom, and this cosplayer stands tall and proud.
In this shot, Tsunade is standing resolute like a forest guardian, which is appropriate since her home is the Leaf Village, a place hidden in the forests. Many forests have guardian spirits, and this spirit can hit like a truck.
