Trump has equated UN experts with terrorists.
The Donald Trump administration has imposed sanctions on UN expert Francesca Albanese and employees of the International Criminal Court, putting them on the same list as terrorists and drug traffickers. According to Reuters, the reason was the investigation of possible US war crimes in Afghanistan and Israel in Gaza. For this, Washington froze the assets of human rights defenders and blocked their bank accounts.
Albanese accused the United States of harassment for human rights activities. The White House responded that they would not tolerate a "political and economic war" against American interests. After that, Trump simply created an alternative UN "Peace Council", which already includes about 20 countries.
