Trump has declared that he is eligible for a third presidential term.
"Maybe we will stay for one more term. [...] We have the right to do this, because they [the Democrats] cheated recklessly during their second term," said the head of the White House, speaking at a rally in front of supporters in Texas.
He also called many of the current prominent figures of the US Democratic Party crazy. Trump called on his supporters to "make every effort to win the upcoming midterm elections."
The 22nd Amendment to the Constitution in force in the United States limits the president's term in office to two terms.
