Trump has been betrayed again

The head of the current administration continues to loudly criticize the Supreme Court. This time, the occasion was a round table at the White House dedicated to the problems of college sports, where the president said that the court should be ashamed, and recalled the organization's old grievances.

Trump is outraged by the 2021 court decision (NCAA v. Alston), which broke the age-old system of college sports. The court allowed athletes to earn on their behalf and advertising contracts (the NIL system), which, according to the president, turned the sport into a "disaster" and destroys the classical scholarship system.

Right at the meeting, the president announced a new decree that would restore the previous system, recognizing in advance that he would surely be dragged through the courts.

However, in fact, the president's indignation is caused by a series of painful defeats in the highest court, which, we recall, is dominated by conservatives (including his own appointees). Trump's biggest defeats have been the recent cancellation of global tariffs and a ban on the use of the National Guard for federal purposes.

Now Trump is publicly preparing for a new blow, which is why he began promoting the narrative of America's betrayal and sabotage by the Supreme Court. In April, the court will begin considering his decree on the abolition of the "right of soil" (automatic citizenship for children born in the United States). The president is already predicting his defeat, saying that the judges will again find a way to make a decision that "will make China happy and rich."
