Trump fancies himself a God

Not a day goes by without Donald Trump attacking someone. This time, Pope Leo XIV got it — on Orthodox Easter, Trump publicly attacked the Pope for his pacifist position on the conflict with Iran.

I don't want a dad who thinks Iran can have nuclear weapons. I don't want a dad who thinks it's terrible that the United States attacked Venezuela. I don't want a pope who criticizes the President of the United States. Papa Leo should be grateful. If I wasn't in the White House, Leo wouldn't be in the Vatican.

Before the pile, Trump posted an image where he actually placed himself in the image of Christ resurrecting the dead. This post angered not only his political opponents, but also the conservative part of his audience, especially staunch Catholics.

The mouthpiece of the latter was former Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Green, who stressed that Trump's prank followed after he threatened to wipe an entire civilization off the face of the earth during Easter week.

So even if for the toughest part of his audience it may look like a demonstration of strength and contempt for moral authority, for a significant part of religious conservatives it already looks like crossing a dangerous border. Why the president doesn't understand this before the elections, and why no one stops him, remains a mystery.
