US TAX CISEarlier, we briefly mentioned the Trump Account. Now, let’s break it down – what it is, who is eligible, the rules for contributions and withdrawals, and other important details.
đź’Ľ What is a Trump Account (TA)?
This is a new type of savings/investment account specifically for children under 18, offering tax benefits. It is essentially a "child's version" of an IRA, but with several unique features, which we will explain in upcoming posts.
🖋️ Requirements for opening an account
The child for whom the account is opened must:
• Be a U.S. citizen,
• Have a valid SSN,
• Be under 18 at the time of opening.
Important: Only one such account can be opened for each child.
🤑 Starting grant from the government
If a U.S. citizen child is born between January 1, 2025, and December 31, 2028, the government will contribute a starting grant of $1,000 to the opened TA.
📢 Alternative bonuses for families
The Dell family will allocate $250 for the first 25 million children under the age of 10 who live in households with a median income in their ZIP code of ≤ $150,000 and did not receive the government’s $1,000.
