If you don’t know what a bullet bra is then you could be forgiven for thinking it’s something dangerous. And in a way it is, because its extremely conical points are sharp enough to poke your eye out.
You don’t see many of these vintage bras these days but they were very popular during the 1940s and 1950s. They were made famous by the sweater girls (various Hollywood actresses who adopted the fashion of wearing tight sweaters over a bullet-shaped or cone bra), and Madonna even wore one designed by Jean Paul Gaultier during her Blond Ambition Tour back in 1990. A vintage fashion lingerie company called What Katie Did was the first company to bring bullet bras back into modern production in 1999, and since then other companies have also started to make their own version of the iconic underwear. I never realized this was an intentional fashion trend, and have always been thankful that bra technology advanced past "cone boob" phase. I guess some day people will look back at our round boob bras and wonder "WTF were they thinking?"
I had the same idea! Only I thought it had to do with shortages caused by WW2, the major ingredients like cotton and rubber. And they Had to be that shape because there wasn't any other materials available for the "boob" shape.
I want to know why society even thinks we should have to wear one?!? Bras are torture contraptions, LOL!
I just want to see how boobs actually fit in that space. Wouldn't there be a massive gap between boob to point of cone? I suppose they are good protection for bumping against stuff XD

I guess it depends on heredity and diet. In that time period most boobs were rather pointy on younger women. as our diet got more fat in it and as people did less manual labor and less walking the body and boobs took on more fat so the boobs got rounder.
Back then, girls had to do a lot of physical work. And they walked or rode bicycles. so, they didn't have a lot of fat in their diet. Believe it or not, a girl with low body fat index will sprout breasts that are shaped like cones. Straight out, pointing everywhere they are headed. I grew up on farm and ranch, worked hard everyday. When my boobies finally showed up between14-15, they came in fast and looked like cones, I kid you not. The city girls who had life a lot easier had more body fat and they started sprouting at about 12-13. But they were not like cones for long. soon as they had any size to them they started drooping. They thought they were hot stuff when I didn't have any but when they did come in, I was probably a 34D by age 16 and I could skip the bra if I wanted. Had to go a bit easy on the stairs though. But just plain walking was not a problem. One of the female teachers suggested I wear a bra to hide the nipples because it was distracting the boys. I used bandaids.
When I wore a bra it as the Playtex cross your heart.
