Patricia Anne Stratigias, known worldwide as Trish Stratus, is a former WWE Women’s Champion and WWE Hall of Famer. A lifelong wrestling fan, Trish Stratus decided to pursue a career in wrestling when she was approached by WWE after seeing her on numerous magazine covers. Trish made her WWE debut on an episode of Heat in 2000. Trish won her first WWE title at Survivor Series, where she became the WWE Women’s Champion for the first time in her career.
Trish Stratus also won the WWE Hardcore Championship after pinning Crash Holly, but lost it to Steven Richards shortly after. Trish Stratus would have memorable feuds with the likes of Jazz, Victoria for the WWE Women’s Championship where Trish won the coveted championship multiple times. Trish Stratus along with Lita advanced to the main event of Raw, marking the first time in the shows history that two female wrestlers were in the main event. Trish and Lita would have a legendary rivalry that saw both wrestlers reach new heights in their careers.
Trish Stratus is considered one of the greatest female wrestlers to ever enter a WWE ring. Trish managed to win the WWE Women’s Championship a total of 7 times during her time in WWE. Trish Stratus is considered by many current female WWE Superstars to be their inspiration in the wrestling business.
Trish has had many defining moments during her time in WWE that make her the legend she is today, some of which are also controversial. One of the most controversial and widely discussed segments involving trish is when she was asked to strip and Vince McMahon made her bark like a dog in a WWE ring. It was before Wrestlemania X-Seven that Trish Stratus became romantically involved with Vince McMahon in a storyline involving the entire McMahon family.
Trish Stratus opened up about the controversial segment in an interview with The Bump, revealing the details and her take on the whole incident:
“As everyone knows, it’s been a long road of contentious moments between Vince and I,” Stratus said. “As a character, I knew this was the end point and it peaked at that point.
“Everything we did, including that event, was worth it. It was totally worth it for the character and character development. And it meant a lot more to us that we got there. It was an amazing moment for me as a character.”
Following the incident, Trish Stratus turned face for the first time in her career after slapping Mr. McMahon at WrestleMania. Trish Stratus returned to WWE in 2019 when she faced Charlotte Flair at SummerSlam.

WWE Hall Of Famer Trish Stratus recently appeared on WWE’s The Bump, where she talked about the 2001 storyline that featured her being $exually involved with WWF owner Mr. McMahon, that culminated in a confrontation with Vince’s real-life wife Linda McMahon at WrestleMania X-Seven.
During this interview, Trish also talked about the segment where Vince made her bark like a dog and forced her to strip. Trish referred to it as “THAT” event.
Here’s what Trish said about that WrestleMania angle:
“As we laid it out, everything meant something, every little motion, from Linda standing up to my slap to Stephanie. It was super fun to watch it back.
As a character, that was a turning point for me. That was my whole, ‘I’m not going to take this anymore. I’m going to stand up, I’m going to believe in myself. I don’t need you, I don’t need a man.’
As everyone knows, it was a long journey of questionable moments before that between Vince and I, as a character, I knew this was the end point and it was culminating in this point.
Everything we did, including THAT event, was worth it.
It was completely worth it for the character and the evolution of the character. And it meant that much more for us to get there to that point.
It was an awesome moment for me as a character.”

Trish Stratus Recalls Reaction When Vince McMahon Pitched "Bark Like A Dog" Angle

Seven-time WWE Women's Champion Trish Stratus may go down in history as the greatest WWE Female talent of all time thus far. Recently, while appearing at the For The Love Of Wrestling convention in Liverpool, Stratus discussed perhaps one of the most controversial moments in her time in WWE.
During the build to WrestleMania X-7, there was a controversial angle where Vince McMahon, who was involved in an on-screen romance with Stratus at the time, humiliated her and made her bark like a dog while in her lingerie.
"Vince pitched the angle to me like this — 'so we're going to have this angle where you are barking like a dog and get really humiliated, and basically hit rock bottom.' And I was like, 'amazing!'" said Trish. "Because I knew a couple of weeks later, I would be getting my comeuppance on him and I would be slapping him on the grandest stage of them all, which is Wrestlemania, and turning on him. I was going on to stand up for myself, not needing a man to lean on and fighting for what I needed to fight for."
Stratus would then continue on in regards to how she saw this moment for her on-screen character, and how the moment stood the test of time.
"I get questioned about that a lot, and most people go, 'oh, remember you had to bark like a dog and you had to do that thing that was so degrading, right? For the character, it was, yeah, because that was what the character had to go through. We don't talk to Halle Barry when she had to get abused by so and so, you know, it's a character.
"That, for me, was integral for the character to be at that rock bottom, to have the foresight to say, 'I can break free from this. I won't let this happen to me again and let's move on.' And you know what? 22 years, we're still talking about it!".
Trish Stratus last competed at SummerSlam 2019 , losing to Charlotte Flair by submission.
