The titular Seinfeld characters did have golf moments on the show.
Fans of the show Seinfeld may recognize a few names playing at the U.S. Amateur Championships this week.
According to the New York Post , three players with namesakes of popular characters from the sitcom will be playing together in the first two rounds of the United States Golf Association’s tournament, which will take place at the Ridgewood Country Club in New Jersey.

The trio of Mark Costanza, Hazen Newman and Campbell Kremer will be hitting the green in amateur play.
The titular Seinfeld characters did have golf moments on the show. Kramer hit golf balls into the ocean in the episode entitled “The Marine Biologist.”
In the same episode, George Costanza — who pretended to be a marine biologist to impress a woman — recovered one of Kramer’s golf balls from a whale’s blow hole.
Newman, of course, was Jerry’s nemesis on the popular show.

Following a weekend that saw second-team center Wesley French and second-team right guard Will Fries line up next to each other for the Indianapolis Colts during Saturday’s salty preseason game against the Buffalo Bills, there’s more fun with names getting teed up for this week courtesy of someone over at the U.S. Amateur Championship in New Jersey.
As for the U.S. Amateur Championship, that event will feature a trio of golfers who have been grouped together by the names of Mark Costanza, Hazen Newman and Campbell Kremer. Although it could be a crazy coincidence, one has to think that the party was put together by someone who enjoyed the antics of Seinfeld characters George Costanza, Cosmo Kramer (close enough to Kremer) and Newman (only one name).

Taking place at the Ridgewood Country Club and nearby Arcola Country Club, the 122nd U.S. Amateur Championship will welcome 309 of the best non-professionals from 29 different countries in addition to Costanza, Newman and Kremer. Of the three, it sounds as if Costanza is no joke.
“Costanza is the most notable player of the bunch,” according to The Golf Channel . “The 33-year-old investment banker, who was born near Ridgewood, is a two-time Met Golf Association player of the year and was runner-up to Stewart Hagestad at last year’s U.S. Mid-Amateur.”
Yada, yada, yada and we’ll see what happens but Costanza, Newman and Kremer are real and hopefully they play spectacularly when the U.S. Amateur tees off today.
