Automation Expo took place in Bombay, India earlier this month and Trio's stand enticed over 2000 people to visit.
Amonst the many products, Trio showcased it's new SCARA range of robots and the multi-axis DX5 servo drive range, both of which gained great interest. There was also growing interest from the visitors in Trio's Industry 4.0 solution.

A number of would-be Formula start (in their heads) enjoyed an afternoon Go-karting at a local venue in Gloucester.
The event comprised 10 practice laps, two heats of 20 laps and the final of 15 laps for the top 10 drivers. Competition was, of course, feirce amongst the 20 drivers - karts can reach up to 40mph with minimal ground clearance on the 300 meter track, and although the racing was ultra competitive, thankfully no major accidents occured. The winner was Rich followed closely by Andrew and Mark.

A huge thanks to JDR Karting who hosted the event for us and to Sahil for the helmet-cam footage.
Burgers and refreshments were had at the local Brewhouse and Kitchen. Very F1!
This past week, Joe Hollom and George Larkin, both year 10 students, joined Trio in Tewkesbury for a work experience week which gives a good overview of how an SME engineering company functions.
After being given a short introduction to the Trio product range, Motion Perfect and our controller programming language; Motion-iX, they successfully developed a GUI application using Python and the TrioPC DLL to communicate with the training rig which enabled control of the motor and IO on the test rig.

Aside from the Python core task, Joe and George spend time learning how Trio's I.T., operations and sales departments work and interact to create Trio's products. Well done to both on the way they threw themselves to the tasks and the success they achieved.

Trio Motion Technology was founded in 1987 as a manufacturer of motion controllers. Today the range, branded Motion Coordinators ,can control up to 128 axes of servo, stepper and piezo motors as well as hydraulic systems. Trio’s expertise of motion programming is based within its Motion-iX technology. Launch of the new servo drive and motor package now develops Trio’s offering into a motion solution in addition to providing motion controllers for automation vendors and system integrators.

In 2017 Trio was acquired by the Estun Group, which is supporting Trio in its growth with assistance through shared facilities and R&D as well as financial backing. Trio has exceeded 15% growth year on year since the acquisition. In addition to the primary global markets, a significant proportion of Trio’s business is in China where the company’s motion control capability has enabled Estun to become a major player in the China automation market. Despite the presence of the Estun brand, motion control products in China carry Trio branding.
Launch of the DX4 is symbolic of the collaboration between Trio’s engineers and the wider Estun Group. Lead by Trio’s domain expertise in motion control, the launch has delivered a jointly developed servo system, specifically optimised for superior performance in motion applications

Dennis and Jason were both raving about the Trio front end and control capabilities and what a nice looking,
clean mechanical and controls package we had to present.
For those of us who have spent our lives in motion control it is easy to forget that
many new customers have no previous experience of motion control. To them it is just a word.
However when all is said and done the Trio is probably the most powerful I have ever had my hands on.
When a customer asks me, why use Trio? I say, if you have you wouldn’t be asking me.
We are all very impressed with your response and implementation, and it suits our
application perfectly.
After looking for work-arounds for the last two days, it only took 30 minutes to
understand, implement and test the two functions which certainly tells me you have
designed a very intelligent and intuitive system.
Tony, Your help and timely response was crucial to getting this job done, I wanted
to let you know how much I appreciate it.
This is my first real application with Trio, and although it wasn't a very complicated
job I needed it to go quickly to meet the delivery.
Everything about this controller was perfect for the application and
the software was very simple to work with. Trio will get my vote for future applications where applicable.

The machine ran 460 labels/minute, with a speed of app. 58 m/mins, easily within the
precision-requirements of the customer - This is actually 50% faster then needed!
The performance of MC405 it's incredible , we have increased the machine
speed and the control of the drive has more accuracy compared to the Euro205.
I have to hand it to you guys... the products are great, robust, scalable, flexible,
cost effective and with great form factors !

Two new P730 modules were sent immediately by Express Delivery Service after my distributor made
a call, was delivered to him the very same day . After that, he kindly sent them by a bus from
Slovenia to Belgrade, Serbia.
My delivery guy took them and brought them to the workshop in less than an hour. So, the modules
were delivered in 36 hours after I made a request! They are now at the machine, working perfectly !
I thank all of you guys so much for what I call the real support !
Thank you for having us at the classes last week. Training is very important for us to properly
service our customers and work efficiently. In these difficult economic times it becomes increasingly
difficult to find room in the budget for training employees.
To have our technicians go through a class of the caliber that you provide at no cost is a tremendous

We are commissioning our first Trio controller, the software it’s great , so easy to use .
Having dealt with the CANOpen state machines on another manufacturer's product,
I can honestly say that I am glad that most of the EtherCAT protocol and state machines
are handled behind the scenes in the Trio!
Yesterday a customer approved the instalation of our supply in their factory after testing the machine with the MC664-X.
There are 5 EtherCAT axes... We incorpored advanced diagnostics and have full local and remote access to all components over ethernet
We want to thank Trio for the help. Without it we couldn't have completed the job to the level that we wished for.

Created by the Economic Opportunity Act of 1964 and the Higher Education Act of 1965 signed on the Texas State Campus by our most famous Alumnus President Lyndon B Johnson, TRIO Programs focus on outreach and student service to identify and provide services for underrepresented students across the country. Today, TRIO has surpassed 1 billion dollars in annual funding, serving over 62,000 students in Texas and over 900,000 students nationally. With bipartisan support in both the House and Senate, TRIO Programs are projected to continue to grow, providing greater opportunity for students in all 50 states.
At Texas State University, we pride ourselves on being a TRIO serving campus. Today we continue to honor the legacy of President Johnson by seeking new and innovative ways to serve both precollege and college TRIO students.
The current Texas State TRIO Programs are Student Support Services, Student Support Services STEM, Rural Talent Search, Educational Talent Search, Upward Bound-San Marcos and Upward Bound-Del Valle.

The Federal TRIO Programs (TRIO) are Federal outreach and student services programs designed to identify and provide services for individuals from disadvantaged backgrounds. Texas State University’s Common Experience Team invited TRIO to once again be a part of the LBJ Distinguished Lecture Series. The theme for this year’s Common Experience is an examination of authenticity. From understanding university truth — in scholarship and research — to a definition of Universal Truth. From your own personal truth to a sense of honesty, accuracy, validity, and truthfulness. TRIO Students from Texas State, Austin and San Antonio were given 1,000 seats to see Academy Award, Golden Globe, Emmy and Grammy-winning hip-hop artist, actor, author and activist, COMMON.
In 2019, Texas State Hosted the TRIO Association Student Leadership Conference. 350 pre-college and college students gathered from across Texas to share in an immersive growth experience. The theme of the conference was “Finding your YOU” and focused on Esteem, Sense of Self, Resilience and how a sense of individuality can empower students to achieve their goals both in and outside of the classroom.
Senior Director for TRIO Programs Director for Upward Bound - San Marcos & Del Valle
Ray Cordero currently serves as Senior Director for TRIO Programs at Texas State. He holds a B.S. in Political Science and a Master of Public Administration from Texas State University. Mr. Cordero currently serves as the President for the Texas TRIO Association, and as a board member for the Southwest Association of Student Assistance Programs for TRIO. He has made TRIO his life's work, serving in several leadership capacities at the state and regional levels, and has worked with the Council for Opportunity in Education on innovative programming centered around music and media engagement. Mr. Cordero’s additional work includes a partnership with Dr. Raphael Travis in the School of Social Work that utilizes music and entrepreneurship as mediums for educational access and wellbeing for first generation students.
