Naked Tribe is a tribe that still, in this 21 st century has little or nothing to do with clothing of any sort.
These naked tribes are not peculiar to a particular region or country, however, those in Africa have over time, been a course to study.
Given whatever theory of civilization and the birth of man, the earliest man had no clothing on.
Citing from the biblical angle, it wasn’t until after the eating of the forbidden apple that the first man sort clothing for their nakedness.
From the theory of evolution, the man who developed from apes wandered and roamed naked until the need to keep warm and cover-up.
Centuries later, almost everyone on earth is civilized and has adopted the use of various means of covering nakedness.
However, it will interest you to know that there are still people who walk about naked like no form of civilization have gotten to them.
There are a few tribes in the world who still practice the art of nudity either as a form of cultural preservation or as a result of still being uncivilized.
In this article, we are going to take a look at some of these tribes, especially the tribes in Africa.
This tribe is located in Birnin Amina, Rijau Local Government Area of Niger state in Nigeria, West Africa.
They carter and protect themselves in the same manner people of ancient times did and they are living without external force and control.
They are strict idol worshippers who practice the culture of being unclad. The only piece of covering one may find on them is a wrapper which they use to cover a part of their bodies.
However, this covering mostly happens whenever they go to the market to sell their farm produce.
The Kambari people of Nigeria don’t see nudity as a means to seduce men. Contrary to this, they believe that what attracts a man to a woman is her tattoos and the style of her hair.
Kambari men marry as many wives as they can carter for, equally.
In addition to their practices, Kambari people use animals such as Donkeys as their means of transportation. They also only speak their native language.
They also believe in and practice witchcraft and magic.
The people of Korowai tribe also known as Kolufo do not wear any form of clothing. There is a form of ‘horim’ or simply put; penis guard traditionally worn by people of some ethnic groups in New Guinea known as Koteka.
Korowai Tribe people do not even wear this Koteka. There are about 3000 of them and they prefer to uphold their ancient cultural practice and move around naked.
The only thing the men of this area use in hiding their private parts are leaves. They also still live in tree houses and hunt for food.
They are mostly cannibals and are oblivious to any form of civilization although they are quite strict with their women.
The Jibu tribe of Taraba state was discovered by Stephen Osu who was a Nigerian journalist. He discovered the tribe after a tiring and rigorous 9hours journey over a mountain.
They are inhabitants of the mountains in the Gashaka Local Government Area of Taraba state and are descendants of the famous Kwararafa Kingdom.
Their practice of nudity is cultural preservation as well as proof of their lack of civilization.
The Jibu people only cover parts of their bodies with leaves. In addition to this practice, they sleep on mats made of leaves and grass covering and share streams with their livestock.
Their marriage rites include having the man interested in the woman serving her household for 5 years. Within these 5 years of service, he must as well be able to get the wife to be pregnant. If the man is unable to do this, he is considered unfit for the woman as designed by their gods.
This tribe of Nyae Nyae people chose to be naked . They have a traditional dress which is their bare skin. They are proud of their culture and are happy to change the perspective of people that implies that nudity is a form of uncivilization.
The Nyae Nyae tribe of Namibia are more of a cultural and traditional protectors than they are primitive and ancient.
The Nyae Nyae people of Namibia became the first conservancy in Namibia in 1998. This was a law for a new resource management structure that allowed communities to manage and benefit from wildlife and tourism.
The tribe was, for the first time, permitted to make decisions about the use of their ancestral land.
The Koma people of Yola, Adamawa state are dwellers of the Alantika Mountains which covers the area between Yola and Northern Cameroon.
This tribe of naked walking people was discovered in 1986 by a member of the National Youth Service Corps. This Corps member was posted to go serve at the then Gongola (now known as Yola) area of Northern Nigeria.
Living their lives as they wish in the hills, they are almost alien to whatever form of civilization the world has adapted. Clothing to the Koma people is only for ceremonious activities.
The Koma people practice the act of circumcision on both boys and girls once they are between ages 14 to 17.
They are idol worshippers who believe in a god called Zum or Nu. The Koma people are mostly farmers and hunters.
Koma tribe of Yola was officially referred to as being part of Nigeria in 1961 and has 17 villages in Nigeria. Their culture and traditions are being preserved with the help of certain NGOs in the country.
