KSPerayaUa [beinglistener]🎤: how being an actor helps in interpreting the meaning or story of the song.
🐢: At the very beginning of my career, I didn’t really know how to do that. Singing was just like karaoke to me. I just chose a song, memorized the melody and lyrics, and that was it.
Later, when I gained more experience and had to perform in concerts, things changed. I remember it was during Fantopia. I chose “ผิดที่ไว้ใจ” by Silly Fools, but I had to adjust the original key because I couldn’t sing those high notes.
The problem was that once you lower the key, the color of the song changes. I struggled a lot, thinking about how I could still make the performance exciting. I was working on the show with P’Sing at that time, and I decided to add some rap verses into the song. That made me start rethinking the story and the meaning of the lyrics— “It’s my fault for trusting you.”
So I created a story in my head where P’Sing had someone else. He cheated on me, and I caught him.
🙋♀️: So you got your inner emotions from the story? 😂
🐢: Right! I was so upset—angry, furious —so in the story, I took revenge by being with someone else right in front of him. It turned into a story where it was my fault for trusting him, and also his fault for trusting me. At that moment, I finished writing the rap verse really fast, even though it was quite long, because I was completely immersed in it. I had so many emotions and so much I wanted to express. It was so fun recreating the story of a song.
