This one probably started out as a Supernatural fanfiction and there is
nothing wrong with it. The blurb gives you false expectations (or spoilers for the next books, either way not great), so
this book was kinda a surprise.

Lucas and Shaun are hunters of the evil and supernatural and Shaun
thinks everything supernatural is evil and needs to be put down.
Lucas is more cautious about that, he wants to leave the monsters
alone who don’t harm anyone. It’s a constant point of tension
between them. Other than that, they’re a good team and occasionally
fuck buddies. (Who have secretly feelings for each other, because of course they do).

Then they get set up and team up with guy who wants to kill them,
because that guy, Nic, was also set up by the same person apparently
that Lucas and Shaun were set up by. So they make it their mission to find and bring them down before other hunters get killed.

The mystery is good, clues line up, the final few chapters are a good
climax. Hell, it has a better plot than some Supernatural episodes.

There is a fair amount of sex in this one, between Nic and Lucas,
Shaun and Lucas and Nic and Shaun and also one time a threesome. The
sex scenes fit well with the rest of the plot.

I liked the story and the characters, but the writing and editing are
kinda meh. It could use a beta reader or editor. There are a lot of
unnecessarily repetitions.

But it’s a fun and fast paced book. I would recommend it to anyone
who watched Supernatural or wants to read about monster hunters.

“How
isn’t this place condemned?” he asked, eyeing a particularly
large and suspicious stain on the carpet.
“Health codes don’t
apply to the poor,” a familiar voice said to his right.
He
turned, starting when he recognized what was supposed to have been a
one night stand. “Nic?”
The man grinned, looking impish.
“Well hiya, Shaun. How have you been?”
Shaun glanced at
Lucas who only shrugged, looking uncomfortable. “Is this who you’ve
been spending your days with?”
Lucas crossed his arms across
his chest. “First off, you don’t get to judge me since you had
him first. Secondly, I didn’t know he was a hunter when I met
him.”
“And I wasn’t sure enough about either of you to
admit to it,” Nic quipped from his spot near a door leading into a
cramped hallway.
“But enough to sleep with us?” Shaun asked
with a frown.
“Hey, a guy’s got needs, right?”
Lucas
glared at Nic. “If it makes you feel any better, I didn’t know
about him being a hunter or that he had slept with you until
recently. So, it was a surprise for me, too.”
Lucas looked
annoyed, but Shaun could see that it didn’t run too deep. Shaun
glanced between the two of them and couldn’t help but wonder which
of them had done what when their clothes had come off. It marked the
first time he had ever really tried to imagine what Lucas would look
like when he slept
with someone else. Of course, it was the
first time he had ever seen someone else that Lucas had slept with.
Add in that Shaun knew exactly what Nic was hiding beneath his
clothes, and it was hard for the hunter not to wonder a little.
“Quit
it,” Lucas told him, turning his full glare on Shaun.
“Quit
what?” Shaun asked, trying to sound as innocent as possible.
“You
know what, quit.”
Shaun looked away, careful to avoid Nic’s
curious stare aimed in his direction as well. Normally the idea of
Lucas sleeping with someone else tended to turn Shaun’s stomach. He
wasn’t sure if it was just knowing what the two of them looked like
naked, or something else, but he wasn’t disgusted by the idea. He
turned away from them, pretending to look at the rest of the room
while trying to hide the fact that the idea was having a physical
effect on him.

Adrianne
and Colby are a married lesbian couple. They’re in love and
everything is going well at least that’s what Colby thinks, but then
Adrianne confesses she met someone and she has feelings for that
woman.
She wants Colby to be okay with it.

Colby
is not okay with it. She doesn’t understand any of it. She doesn’t
want to talk abouz it, hear her wife’s explanation about reading
about polyamory, meet this other woman or have an open marriage.

So
she avoids her wife and buries herself in a new case. Murder is
always a good way to not think about your wife wanting to cheat on
you.
Eventually
curiosity gets the better of Colby and hunting a killer of women
sets things into perspective for her. She still loves Adrianne and
Adrianne assures her that she loves her too and wants to stay
married. She asks Adrianne to explain, so the talk about polyamory.
They talk about Macy, the other woman. Colby meets Macy and she
doesn’t want to like her, but it’s harder than she thought.

They
get close and end up in bed, and Colby feels messed up about it,
because wasn’t it Adrianne who wanted her permission to take Macy to
bed?

Things
get complicated, but of course they figure it out.

So,
this is a FFF triad story and it has murder, which…I liked. The
murder case made this book better, so much so that when the killer
was caught and it all focused on the three of them figuring out
boundaries and how to tell family and friends, it got a bit boring.

The
book is well written and edited, we only get one pov and that is
Colby’s. She’s not a very dramatic character. Neither is Adrianna.
Macy seems a bit young and her behavior sometimes childish.

There
is some bondage, very safe, sane and consensual and oddly not very
sensual. All the sex scenes and there are a few are not especially
erotic. I would even call them boring. It’s definitely not the
author’s strong point.
It’s
a good read for about 2/3 of the book, then it starts to fall apart
for me, but some of you might feel different about it.

“Was
it everything you hoped for?” If
anything, I need to know that it’s worth it, for her, for Adrianne,
in the end, for me.
Macy pulls herself a chair and sits at the
table.
“Nothing happened that day,” she says.
“Yeah,
right.”
“I swear! Look, it’s only been days since you said
you were okay with us
going forward, so…We still want to get
to know each other.”
“Dear Lord.” I sit down on the other
side of the table after filling her glass.
“I really have no
idea how this works.” I take a gulp…that, at least, feels good.
Macy gives me a shy smile. “If it makes you feel any better, we’re
kind of in the same boat. Adrianne has read a lot and talked to
people online. I’m the person who fell in love with the woman who
already had a kind and gorgeous wife.”
“Again with the
flattery. Go on, by all means. I can use it.”
“It’s not
just flattery.”
I look at her, and for the first time, I see
something there that I find unsettling beyond the general concept of
our “relationship.” Because she and I don’t have a
relationship, not really, but I can see something in her eyes that’s
a reflection of something stirring within me. So far, I’ve been
pretty
good at pushing it back down. Another sip. The warmth of
the alcohol is welcome, comfortable. I’ve already crossed that
line, in my dream, and I shouldn’t go there, ever. Especially not
when Adrianne is about to come home any minute—though there’s a
tiny part of my mind that whispers, why not? It would serve her
right. I jolt myself out of the inappropriate thought. Adrianne will
have to cope with the aftermath of finding the dead woman. Right now,
any thoughts of payback for something that hasn’t even happened
yet, make me the bad person.
I don’t comment on Macy’s
words, and go back to my meal. She does the same, and we continue to
eat in silence.

Let me just preface this with:
this is the worst MFM romance I read this year so far.
It’s
boring, has a million grammar/spelling/typo issues. The author mixes
up names and descriptions of the main characters! I hated it. It’s
way too long, around page 170 I was hoping it would end, but no. The
author dragged it for another 40 pages to a wedding, a new business
and a fucking pregnancy.
Let’s get
into it then. I’ll keep it short.
Allison
is the newbie at a photography studio specializing in weddings. She
hates weddings, hates that her family and friends (apparently)
pressure her into finding a man and have kids.
Brennan
and Raynan are best friends since forever and of course the best in
the wedding photography business, so she’s stuck with them until
she’s good enough to struck out on her own. But they’re hot and
she needs fake dates/boyfriends for two separate occasions. So first
Brennan goes to her friend’s wedding with her and they end up
fucking, the Raynan goes to a family reunion with her and they end up
fucking.
The
guys talk about it, don’t know if she’s just easy or likes to play
around. Allison, the strong fun loving, independent woman that she
is, proposes a threesome the very next day.
They
guys feel weird about that, but hey it’s sex and they want to spank
her and tie her up again.
So
threesome happens, then another, the third time she wants them to
kiss and they do, things get weird again. While all this is happening
she’s also trying to find them girlfriends, because they’re fake
boyfriends anyway. There is more sex. And guys there is spanking and
bondage and the woman liking it and being dominant and it’s still
boring as fuck. I skipped over some of these scenes. Also no prep, no
condoms, no common sense (one guy uses his shoelaces to tie her to
the bed…don’t try this at home!).
Anyhow, I
guess there is also plot there somewhere between sex and trying to
set the guys up with other women, but…I can’t remember and I only
finished this book an hour ago.
So, there
is some drama between the guys because suddenly they’re attracted to
each other - which I don’t buy. And then they make up and wedding and
baby and the end.
210 pages
of this crap. On KU if you want to try it.
The
writing is bad, the language reads like they’re all fifteen or the
author is. There is no editing to speak off. The guy’s voices are
the same. There is way too much telling and not showing and the sex
is boring! Everything about this book is awful.
I
seductively walk toward him, sultry eyes and moves. With every step,
I remove a piece of my clothing
until I’m naked in front of him. Tip-toeing up, I passionately kiss
him and stroke his chest. “I second that emotion,” he says as he
picks me up and carries me to the bed. I watch him remove his clothes
and help him get his pants off so I can stroke that massive erection
still growing in his pants. “This looks delightfully decadent,” I
lick the shaft and feel as he shudders. Brennan turns me over quickly
and licks the small of my back, down to my ass. My desire grows, but
then he spanks me. “Naughty girl! I’m going to make you wait
while I get you so hot, you’ll be begging for me to fuck you.” He
slaps my other cheek and turns me on my back. He opens the bag and
removes strawberries, whipped cream, and some other miscellaneous
items. He crawls up next to me and using a strawberry, he circles my
nipples, one by one. Then he takes a bite, being all sexy with his
tongue. He rubs the bitten fruit on my lips, but he doesn’t allow
me to have a bite. “Ah-ah-ah,” he wiggles a finger and then runs
it over my lips. Brennan leans down to kiss me, but he licks my lips,
causing the hair on my back to stand at attention with pleasure. He
gets up and grabs the whipped cream. He squirts some on his dick and
looks at me lustfully. “Lick it, lick it off.”

Take my pants down, I want us
to spank each other’s monkeys,” I talk in a raspy voice, filling
with excitement as he releases the mammoth dick and begins rubbing it
up and down. “Oh, Raynan!” I exclaim as a wave of erotic pleasure
