TL;DR — I'm really, really trans, I spend a long time with the preamble, and then I share a bunch of things I've gleaned from my journey up until now.
Hey! I am going to hit my one-year HRT this week so I thought I would share my experience so far! I read something like this when I was starting and it gave me a lot of hope. I will say my mindset about a lot of things changed over the past year. I have been tracking a lot of these things since the start of my transition and thought I would share!! Disclaimer:

Exactly two years ago, I sat apprehensively in the reception area of the public health clinic, waiting for my name to be called. I remember looking around the room at the other trans girls sitting nearby. I couldn't wait to be just like them. Two years and 4,860 pills later, I now realize how little I actually understood back then. Today, I'd like to share ten lessons that I wish I had known.

I was really scared of going on hormones. I was scared of like—I think a lot of trans people that I know, when they're first going on hormones, they're scared of, like, having an unsuccessful transition in some way or, like, not getting the changes that they want, or feeling like they will end up stuck in this, like, scary in-between place.
