Today, we run parent support groups, a trans youth leadership program, special topics groups, and youth support groups, with more programs in development. Before COVID-19, our groups were all in person. Now they are all online, here, available for families everywhere.

The TransFamily Alliance is a collaboration between parents on their own gender journeys raising trans children and Dr. Shawn V Giammattei the founder & director of Gender Health Training Institute, a clinical family psychologist, and a gender specialist who has helped hundreds of parents like you raising transgender or gender expansive youth.
Our hope at TransFamilies is that your connection with other parents will illuminate the pathways to support a strong, resilient, and happy child. TransFamilies support groups are for families with trans and gender diverse children. We screen all attendees to ensure that the groups are safe. Among the topics addressed at our group meetings:
Try to find a doctor in a hospital-based gender clinic or a referral through the trans family community (such as TransFamily Support Services support groups or Family Engagement Sessions, or other groups like PFLAG). Call the doctor's office to confirm their training/experience with trans/non-binary youth; if they have none, keep looking.
Family support is vital for the well-being of transgender and nonbinary individuals. Learn how understanding and acceptance can positively impact mental health, education, and relationships for LGBTQ+ youth.
